I find 16 episodes long in a kdrama I can't imagine 50.
If this drama was 30 episodes, and another writer was involved, and a different FL, it might have been passable. Twenty-five weeks of broadcast was torturous. I stayed to the end, and was I pissed at myself. I watched it on Dramafever during the original TV broadcast; 2 episodes weekly.
why did you watch 50 episodes of 1 hour each if you hated it so much? were you, in your own words, desperate?
It has been six years since I watched this drama, and I still cringe, thinking that I wasted 25 weeks on this drama. I kept waiting for the revenge, but the plot kept sinking.
The princes' ages sound like like those math riddles in school. LOL
What happened to 1, 3, 4, 5, and 8, and anyone after 9? I am glad the drama did not include 1 thru 9, because it would be confusing to keep track of all of them. Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Love Lost in Times, Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty had numerous royal headcount.
Would you recommend this? I don't like too much misunderstanding and it seems 5 amnesia here...
I watched it for the ML. He was one of the best ML drama characters. The FL was adequate. The drama started to slide toward the end. FL had amnesia in the past, and the ML had amnesia in the future. Fortunately it is only 24 episodes. It is frustrating to watch the miscommunication between the characters.
Important parts are missing that make it great. Like ep 35 is nonsense that was just created and contributed nothing…
Great point about Xiao Se getting whipped by Wuxin, and turned around and fight Lonely Swordsman.
I haven't watched a ton of costume dramas, but it always seems that the writers get tired of the plotline, or go off on a tangent toward the last leg of the drama. At that point, the plot slows down.
I started fastforwarding the scenes with the eunuchs and Prince Yu Chi. The eunuchs are chatty men. Yu Chi's face looks so sallow and thin. The actor must be a diet.
