Hairstyling in the Dashuo empire (or whatever it was called) was odd. Qiu Yan started out with a strange hairstyle. Qiu Min had a strange hairstyle at the end. Several characters, as well!

The Liang Mother scene was shocking. I did not expect that. I finally felt sad for Qiu Yan's birth mother, but Qiu Yan was still stiff as a board. She was even stiff, interfacing with Qiu Min.

I recommend Imperial Coroner (costume drama) and Fall in Love (modern drama). The lead couples are cute.

Liang Yi actually looked his best in the final scenes, after he let down his hair, and put on a skirt. His flowing hair and makeup made him look robust. The white pancake makeup was gone, although his hair did look nice with the top knot.

In Season 2, we would see more of Yuan Lang hunting down Liang Yi. That was one of the most boring parts of this drama. He was boring. I could barely pay attention to him. He needs to let down his hair, and find himself a woman. He was so uptight and rigid. He should have hooked up with the Fairy Qiu Min. LOL

This is one drama where they needed forty episodes, to fill in the loopholes. The scriptwriter must have quit after ep 30, and backups wrote the last four episodes. The scripts and dialog were muddled. The massive cave under Eunuch Liu's house was unbelievable. Even Yuan Lang looked redeemable, but that lasted one episode only. I can't believe he went back on his Liang Yi persecution campaign in ep 34, and received a huge promotion to Minister of Whatever Department. He reminds me of my former bosses.

Looking back, there were multiple conspiracies convoluting the plot. LOL

I rated it a 8.5, but dropped it to 7.5 because of the last four muddled episodes. The Emperor saw the writing on the wall, and drank the tea. LOL

I could not figure out if the Crown Prince was a child or an adult. I guess that he must be over 20, since he is living in his own palace across the city. The Consort looks young, but she could be in her 40s.

Yuan Long needs to fall from grace in the sequel. Just like Real Life, he is a backstabbing snake who gets a big job promotion. I would love watching him fall from up high.

She's like a leech on Qin Xuan. In the end, she explains the relationship between her and Qiu Yan through flashbacking, and you realize why she was so bitter.

It feels like the writer, director, music supervisor were novice filmmakers. Liang Yi running like a little kid, searching for Qiu Yan, looked ridiculous.

The drama took a nosedive in the end. The writing was sub par in the final episode. Yuan Lang returned into his backstabbing snake self, and was promoted... just like Real Life. I did not even suspect Mother Liang of killing the husband...for her friend, the maid Consort, until Qiu Yan mentioned it. Qiu Yan lying about the mother's death, and abandoning Liang Yi, is atrocious.

Filming wrapped after 118 days on October 28, 2020, and I can believe why it took sixteen months to air.

One of the most stupid final scenes! Did they film the final scene during the COVID-19 lockdown, and needed to stand 40 feet apart? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The most ridiculous ending of a drama! Making up a lie about the mother's death. Qin Yan definitely does not deserve Liang Yi.

Who wrote ep 33? Worst plot devices! Why did the stupid QM step in front of Sister, to take the arrow? Why was QY standing like a statue when the arrows started flying? She is supposed to be brain smart. Why was QM leeching on QX anyway? She is not on the payroll.

As I watched ep 31 and 32, I noticed that Yuan Lang has the worst acting, among the cast of characters, He just stands, and glares or stares. He is a dull pseudo villain. The Emperor just sits in the bright yellow room, and does nothing. I haven't seen him walking around much.

I haven't watch K-drama episodes with 60 minutes or more in several years. This drama has been consstructed so meticulously, that the 75 minutes feel like 30 minutes only.
