The director and writer probably thought it was irrelevant to clarify that she was in jail. It was glossed over. Ma Quentin would have found some means to get her only daughter out of jail sooner. I wonder if Ma Quentin was planning to merge and acquire Huang Shi's restaurant business in the future.
At the end, I am assuming that Boris was promoted to General Manager of Yuxuan. Mai should have been promoted to Executive Chef. Oliver should be Owner Chef. Kesong should be Specialty Chef.

I just finished ep 40, and I am at a loss for words. The final scene is reflective of a Bollywood ending, as well. I just went along with the drama, not expecting a masterpiece melodrama. The food was good, and pretty.

Yes! Mother's stiff white straw hair and pancake makeup, Victor's black straw hair bangs and heavy black eyeliner, cry princess Elise (...her hair looked stiff). Plus, they all act and think wierd.

I'd love to see Boris turn into Knight to the Rescue. His redemption in ep 37 was so cringing. Actor/Boris seemed to age in the last few episodes. He looked younger in the beginning of the drama.
