FL, Weiran and Ningfei were orphans, wondering the streets before they were captured to Death Camp. Later all…
Jing Shi appears to be in his mid-20s. The death camp was founded more than a decade ago. I think he selected Yi Xiao twelve years ago. He would be a preteen when he started the death camp. If that is true, he was unhinged then.
Currently at eps 2, and nothing seems to be adding up, i wonder how they would end up failing in love they shouldn't…
I watched episode 2 two weeks ago, so I don't recall the exact details. Has she been tortured brutally by Sui Ge? At the time, I was asking myself, how will they fall in love? That amounts to physical abuse.
I know Prince Jingshi was a eunuch in novel. In the drama they showed a scene with Yi Xiao getting a marriage…
It sounds like Book Jing Shi was obsessed and desired Yi Xiao, but was frustrated that they could never share any intimacy. He was leading her on, and deluding himself. In the drama, she might have assumed it was love because he had protected her for twelve years. Didn't he promise to marry her some day? That day didn't come.
We should have seen Feng Suige and Yixiao becoming Emperor and Empress like it happened in the novel. Why the…
This book recap is more plausible than the drama plot. Jinxu kingdom is orphaned, without a ruler, and the army is leaderless. Someone mentioned Jing Yan had children, but he was only twenty years' old. His children would be little. Neighboring kingdoms can invade it. Empress Yi Xiang could potentially go off the deep end like her father, and invade Jinxiu for revenge. I wonder what Sui Ge or Yi Xiao would do in that situation.
I want to see CZY play as a demon lord so badπ₯Ή Directors pls make my wish come trueπ
He has very good on screen presence. He just needs motivation to stretch his acting range. He can take acting lessons from the brother Xia Jing Yan (Qin Tian Yu).
I was waiting for them to kill off Ning Fei and Lu Ke. Surprised but glad they survived.
It was also gratifying when Jing Shi, Zhuang Shen, Murong Yao, Murong Zhong got their exit papers. I applauded those scenes. Muhahahaha!
The characters I was most sorry for, were Weiran and Feng Peng Cheng. In the end, Weiran was thinking that he will meet his brothers, Yi Xiao and Ning Feng, and all will be well. I don't think redemption works that quickly.
Feng Cheng Yang had potential as Emperor during his short reign (... two months?), but he was stifled by his Tiger mother and had been third wheel to the two siblings, all his life. He had no career longevity because Mother and Grandfather killed his father.
Sorry: I kept calling Feng Cheng Yang, Peng Cheng. I will try to correct my mistake.
I am still reading comments daily since I finished the drama on Thursday. It is one of the best dramas I have watched. The main characters are unforgettable and memorable. The dysfunctional families in the Susha and Jinxui imperial palaces stood out. Megalomania, paranoia, psychosis, amnesia, conspiracy, revenge, delulu, backstabbing, surviving falls of a cliff, voodoo medicine crammed into thirty-eight episodes.
The music editor was overly zealous with his music placements. No need to play BGM when the characters were talking. Keep the volume down, pleasa! Less is more!
I knew XJS would not need to have many fight scenes. With all those very long heavy looking dangling adornments,…
I rewatched the final episode last night. That was the hardest he had worked throughout the entire drama.ππ He was usually sitting down, entering buildings, or chatting with Yi Xiao, Jing Yan, Empress Jing, and Wieren.
If I were directing, Yi Xiao would have fired the final shot to the heart, as he attempted to thrust his sword into Sui Ge.
Wasn't Jing Shi the crack (...pun intended) Jinxui military general? I do not recall seeing him do many fight scenes. Sui Ge had amassed a casualty count of several dozen men.
Even the middle-aged men were good looking. πππ
Did you notice that the actresses playing Empress Zhuang and JIng are in the mid-30s? The actors playin Feng Cheng Yang and Xia Jing Ya are in the late 20s and early 30s. π€£π€£π€£ The actresses were the right age for their empress roles but the actors were a lot older than their characters. Xia Jing Yan is 20, and Feng Cheng Yang should be 16ish. Nonetheless, they were convincing as mother and son.
They get disgruntled, and one day have an uprising. π€£π€£π€£
I was thinking the same thing. Out of the blue, they decided they wanted their freedom. I see the need for secrecy because of fear that Susha Emperor would them out one day, but to be cooped up for a decade after the Empress' death was extreme. Elder Lei Lei was paranoid, and other two elders just went along with it.
