I didn't know Shan Bao's father was around until he showed up in the capital arc. I recall someone mentioning Granny's son early days of the drama, and was curious what his role would be. Then I forgot about him until last night.

The writers got carried away with the cray cray Xue family members. Now we understand why Lu Jiang Lai had been avoiding them for years... but he didn't know about his half-crazy brother, his wife, Princess and Madame Chang. LOL the only normal people in the family as the three children.

I was waiting for Lang to choose one of the sisters or cousin. I hope he stays far way from them, tbh. Cousin started getting chatty again in the Capital. She didn't figure out that people stop listening when she keeps talking.

Writers should have killed off Granny. Her tyranny will continue, and the sisters and cousin won't move out. Shan Bao should transfer them to tea plantations in Asian countries.

I think Director is delirious about making a season 2. She (... edited) inhaled that incense in Shuyu's brazier. I watched K-dramas for sixteen years, and the one season only with conclusion with the time jump or bad ending, was sufficient drama.

She essentially dumped him at the Duke's mansion, but was hoping on the dock that he would show up. She seemed to be testing his loyalty. I anticipate that Granny Rong will belittle and humiliate Liang Lai before he marries Shan Bao. Granny Rong and Duke Xue were cut from the same cloth.

They had some nice fashions in the Capital. The ladies kept warm with the silk robes with fur trim. I wonder if they filmed in the winter these scenes in the winter months. LOL I loved Jiang Lai's blue robe.

The Xue clan was dysfunctional. I still don't know who really killed Brother Shuyu. Madame Chang, Princess, Xie Hui Qing, or even Xue Butler? They should have pinned the crime on the butler, and let all the women go free. LOL I am guessing tha Old Duke will die soon, and Lu Jiang Li will renounce the Duke title in favor of his little nephew, Xun. So are the three children, Xie Hui Qing's biological children?

The writers flip flopped the sex of the lead characters. In a parallel drama universe, Shan Bao could easily be male, and Jiang Lai could be female. Old Granny could be the patriarch. The Rong sisters could be competing male brothers. In effect, Glory is projecting female empowerment.

Yes! Hou Ming Hao's star has been rising, and the production companies are headhunting. I am here for Hou, but Lu Jiang Lai's flip flopping makes me 🙄. When you gauge the two characters against other C-drama characters, Shan Bao was written as the male lead, and Jiang Li was written as the female lead. This might have been intentional.

I am watching episode 34. The vipers are everywhere. The Xue clan is as bad as, or worse than the Rong Clan. That Madame Chang is a b>_"@. The writer wanted us to feel sorry for her. I think the two writers are sadists, or had a torturous life, to write such animosity and bitterness.

What is Lu Jiang Lai's age? He has two personas; sometimes mature, sometimes needy. Shan Bao is the real star of the story. She is driving the plot forward. As much as I did not warm up to Shan Bao, I see her wisdom and strength. Gulnezer should have received top billing for her contribution to the drama.

Obviously, she has the worst taste in men. She selected Yan Bai Luo, the way she picked her many husbands.
