The Qiaos are a dysfunctional family. When I was growing up, I thought only my family was dysfunctional. Later, I met several people of different cultures who described their dysfuntional family unit. It's universal. 😅😅😅

His blue silk suit in episode 13 looked perfect, but a surprising color for a male senior executive. I am female, and I used to own a blue tailored pants suit for work. I would have dressed him in a black suit and tie, with the blue shirt.

I would feel sorry for the lawyer, if Feng Lei ended up with him.

I love that Cdramas are on a fast track. Other dramas take so long, with one or two weekly episodes.

She should take his unlimited credit card, and go feed the homeless, sick and poor, in his name, and publicize it. That might shock him and his parents. LOL

The filming was started but later got cancelled due to certain circumstances.

Fo Ye might be his signature role. I don't think he has done any work that eclipses that role.

I'd like to see Lin Tao vanish.

Lin Tao is delulu, egotistical and deranged. He must be an important supporting character since he is ranked #5 in the castlist. He and Fang Lei would make a good couple.

When she pivots on a dime, you can see the contrast in her expressions. I think she has outshone her female peers in the showbiz.

Mother also does not treat the boy like he is her son. As the grandmother, she should be doting on Haochen.

It occurred to me while watching ep 11, that the Shen empire is all a sham. Did they lose all their money, and has Hao Ming been keeping up pretenses on an international grand scale, as they work to restore their former glory? The parents might have known that Xu Yan was a fabrication before she married their son. MIL acts saccharine sweet toward Xu Yan. Hao Ming recognized Zhou Ze Yuan immediately as an amateur con artist. You can't fool the Con Master (... Shen Hao Ming). Good riddance to Zhou, btw! He might be the most annoying character in the plot... so far.

You can tell that I watch a lot of C-dramas.

I remember her in Long Ballad, when she was probably 21 years' old. Time flies.

That was an odd conversation. Where did Qiao Lin find the money for a legal consultation, and she probably give a synopsis of what her "friend" or "relative" has done. The lawyer must be very skeptical. Xu Yan was ignoring her sister, but now she is getting closer to her. Her defenses are wearing down. Qiao Lin is another stalker, stalking Dr Yu Yiming. I know she had a high school crush on him, and now he is a handsome, successful surgeon.

I thought that as well, but then she seems to spend time with MIL. I wondered if they are living in the Shen mansion. Xu Yan is available for household chores.

You see her acting skills when she pivots. I don't think any actress has accomplished this, in a C-drama.

MIL acts so phony toward Xu Yan. When Fang Lei first appeared, I felt that Mother had sent for her, to break up the relationship between Shen Haoming and Xu Yan.

Xu Yan must be the equivalent of the K-drama daughter-in-law, who is treated like the servant of the rich family. Xu Yan has a day job at the TV network, but she is also babysitter for Haochen, tea server for MIL, and cook for the family.
