First of all, Takei Emi killed and I mean absolutely killed it in this drama. Her acting is amazing here. I've been trying to watch this for years and I never completed the first episode every time because I felt it was too heavy.... it was heavy indeed but boooy was it interesting as hell. I loved all the characters, the story isn't just twind drama there's also the element of who dunnit and so much more. Love Kiritani kenta and his role here is absolutely perfect. Gosh he's perfect always.
I was expecting that Mako and Yumiisaka will end up as couple in the end... but unfortunately they both bid farewell...…
I think it makes sense, since he only pitied her while she struggled living as Satsuki. Now that she returned to her posh life style there's no common ground left. Also I'd like to believe that they'll stay in touch, they both did a goodbye after Kirara's arrest and he came flying to save her at the end too.
I was getting bored with Japanese Dramas lately and was longing for the good old days, I stumbled upon this movie and didn't think any of it, didn't even care what year it was but Oh boy was I lucky!!!!
Such a great movie, every second is worth the watch... The story, the cast, the acting, the message, everything. 10/10 recommended.
I was so frustrated with so many things that has happened in the drama, I felt like everything was getting on my nerves just like Mio's character who is good at doing what people hate.
I must say, I was waiting for the confrontation moment so bad that I hated every second of her dying so easily without getting punished for what she did to Nishiwaki.
Fascinating drama! How can you live with yourself if you told a lie that put someone in prison. Better yet, why…
This is an old reply so I'm just saying it for whomever is wondering the same.
I have wondered that too and came to this conclusion: Azumi's testament was crucial because she saw Nishiwaki "on" her way to the station not by the station. It was the same time when the boy was killed, so if she was the murderer then she could've killed him and rushed to the station. Taking in account that it needs time to ride the train and arrive at the kid's house so their testament is not reliable since it's different than the time of the death.
But if Azumi told the truth, then she would have an alibi at the time of the death since she was on her way to the station. But it's weird too that nobody checked the station for witnesses. I think this is the lesson, their prejudgment led them to ignore any other perspectives and focus on Nishiwaki only.
I would just like to suggest watching the 2003 Kimi wa Petto before the remake. Very different feels. The early…
I actually watched the first like 5 minutes of Kimi wa petto the remake before dropping it, then decided to watch the original and guess what! What a piece of art and fun.
The late 90's and early 00's dramas are unbeatable in my opinion.

I don't mind tho, Higashino Keigo wrote the original script so the difference would be minimal.

Great drama and splendid acting.
