Stop calling me beauty, we are not that close for you to call me that. I know that we have every right for an opinion but knowing how strict China is. He should not have done that and have not supported the student protest demanding the lifting of the blockade policy against the Covid-19 pandemic. For someone who is in the Entertainment... Yet other big artist did not even do this.. So why should he. He deserves it. Yes, as an artist he should have kept his opinion to his self, knowing how government there, he should have already seen this coming.
This is not just about the freedom of speech. I understand those students want everything back to normal but at this point those students are making it worse. When their government is making every possible way to make sure their citizens is safe during the Covid pandemic.
Why are you talking about KW's case when it is not even related to the topic?
Let me tell you even in my country, they could jail & fine us if we do not abide by the Covid pandemic protocols. So I hope you will understand China is doing the same thing to their country. Also for goodness's sake an actor should not be irresponsible like this if he wants his dramas to be aired. He is the victim when he? " supported the student protest demanding the lifting of the blockade policy against the Covid-19 pandemic." I don't know what you are thinking but for me, what he did is wrong.
I am praying that this drama will not be shelved because of his mistake and irresponsible behaviour. And for the record I want to see this drama because of Bai Lu & Zhang Ling He.
That is really an inappropriate remarks! He is an actor. He should be more careful of what he says, especially other people died of covid-19. This is a very serious one. Especially with how China is very strict/serious when in comes to Covid.
he was banned from the Weibo social network for supporting the student protest demanding the lifting of the blockade policy against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Most sane countries deals drug issues by targeting the dealers who are the actual criminal using other peoples'…
Good that you are not calling me a bad person. I'm not taking this personally. It's just that some people say he does not deserve to be cancelled and all but for me, Sorry. It's 100% a crime no matter how you look at it. While his reasoning is understandable for some people, it's still illegal. Maybe South Korea treats drug users a bit too harshly in some cases, however these are some heavy drugs that he's using and he needs to take responsibility for his actions. He was even exempted from military service because of a bone tumor only to be found doing drugs... I'm sorry but I don't expect to see him ever returning.
"the user that blocked didn't say they wanted to see Hellbound 2 canceled, they just wanted to protest against the specific decision of recasting Yoo Ah In, as useless as it is. Why is that selfish?" For me calling in to Netflix to say that is over the boundaries already when they (netflix) have already decided to replace YAI. The korean society is pretty drastic when it comes to drug scandals. It was either lose the actor, or lose most of the sponsorship. Netflix cares about business, so they made the most safe choice... whether we like it or not. It’s not just about cancel culture. I'm glad the authorities found this, he needs rest from the spotlight. Propofol is extremely dangerous, he could have died… that’s what they use to knock you out for surgeries…
Besides Kim Sung Cheol is a talented actor, I've seen him in Vincenzo.
Still my perception on people who uses drugs will never change.

I am not being defensive here. Even though we have different ideas, opinions or perspective please stop making me look like a bad person just because I refuse to agree to what some of you are saying. Especially when I mentioned that I had a bad experience before (about a drug user who went violent) , so naturally my reaction will be not good words to people who uses drugs. I had to reply because one, you replied to the user's post who blocked me, which is directed me at saying "I am overreacting" Which I think is absurd cause why would that user say "if enough of us called in, it might help" I mean some people want to see hellbound season 2 and then she will say that kind of thing just because Yoo Ah In is replaced? I know that it kinds of disappointing to any fan of him being replaced but you have understand that he made a mistake and even any actor who is involved in scandals are replaced even before. I called her out because she lacks consideration to other people.
What's wrong with my morals? At least I know what is wrong and right. Because I grew up like that. Really you are not protecting Yoo Ah In? But why do I feel like you are.. He deserves a chance? LMAO! So if I am going through something like Yoo AH In I should also use drugs? I mean what kind of logic is that? I mean he might be going through something but that doesn't mean using drugs is the best solution.. I may have depression but I don't do drugs.

Lol. Did I say I want to continue the conversation with you? You could have simply ignored my post or blocked me. It seems that you are all affected just because I shared my views and perspective on this. Is it so wrong for me to say that I hate people using drugs and I hate people who keeps on protecting & defending those people who keeps on using drugs? Also why do some of you keep being triggered if someone like me disagrees with it? Remember where I live is like SK. ( either you go to prison, even if the person is not a drug dealer). Like what you've said "addictions makes them unable to control themselves" Even if you show care to this people they will just continue to do this kind of thing. I've seen one he's an addict too then got rehab but then took drugs again. Just remember drugs are illegal in Korea hence the lack of rehabilitation facilities. This is something new and a growing concern because of dirty a** foreigners bringing their drugs and other degenerate activities into Korea. I have already encountered someone who uses drugs and he went violent that's why from there on I've always hate people who is addicted to drugs. And no I am not downplaying addictions. Please just stop protecting Yoo Ah In. I just hate it when people continue to keep being blind with his situation.

I have every right to reply even if that someone blocked me already. Blocking someone means being coward. This is not harassment because first I did not harass that user and second you are the one showing harassment now just because of an opinion based on different perspective? How could you be so petty?
Most sane countries deals drug issues by targeting the dealers who are the actual criminal using other peoples'…
I don't care what the viewers right in Netflix USA have. Technically I don't live in the US. Netflix's content is not the same everywhere. Because of copyright and licensing regulations, the streaming service displays specific titles per location. That's why the Korean Netflix library has movies you can't find in the American catalog.
"I have no opinion on whatever your view point is" when you replied on my post 3 hours ago? is that what you called no opinion? Shame.
I have every right to be mad to people like you complaining to Netflix as if you own the company when you are not even the owner of it.
Most sane countries deals drug issues by targeting the dealers who are the actual criminal using other peoples'…
Because clearly some of you still protects Yoo Ah In as if he is still innocent when he is not. Even though some of you are not a big fan of SK laws like what you said, you have to remember that as fans of him you have no jurisdiction about his case. Yes, we can exchange our views and opinions but it does not mean you have to be bias about him. News flash if you are not yet informed Netflix have an office in SK based in Jongno, one of Seoul's oldest neighborhoods. So Netflix have every right to remove an actor if it is involved in a scandal like this. I also have every right to speak my voice freely here. Not only you, just to be clear to you too.
Most sane countries deals drug issues by targeting the dealers who are the actual criminal using other peoples'…
Yes. Most sane countries deals with drug issues and most of them are handled by the government on how to stop the war on drugs. Please stop protecting Yoo Ah In as if he did not made a mistake here. First of all he knows what he is doing. If not, why continue using those drugs instead of stopping? Even if Yoo Ah In is not a drug dealer, The fact that he is positive to four illegal drugs means he is not free to use or take those drugs when there is a law in their country that states the korean citizens are prohibited from using any kind of drugs. Unless Yoo Ah In have a therapist and it was prescribed to him. This is not a character assasination. This means SK is just implementing their laws about drugs and their citizens should not take this law lightly. It's either they go to prison based on the final sentence of a Judge & Court or to be fined and have probation.
Why? Do you really think drugs like marijuana, propofol, cocaine and ketamine can't take a life away? Yoo Ah In could have died just like Michael Jackson. Other people may not agree, but I have my views very differently on people taking or using illegal drugs that can kill people or a life. Even if someone says he is going through something. In my eyes it's still very wrong. Especially where I live, when someone is using drugs they are sent to prison.
All four drugs that Yoo Ah In have tested positive for so far are strictly illegal in South Korea.
Under the Narcotics Control Act, individuals found guilty of illegal drug abuse could face up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to ₩100million (approximately £65,200).
Wishing you a year filled with love, adventure and prosperity. It’s a day to celebrate everything you’ve accomplished in life.💐 Can’t wait to see what you do next. Enjoy your day!🥳
It's not that what you said is wrong, but an addict don't need punishment: an addict needs rehab. Punishment is…
How is s*x offenders related to him when we are talking about drugs?
Don't start with the blaming thing here. First of all Journalist is a job. Even here in my country they tend to report that the president's wife's brother is involved in smuggling. Netflix will really protect their reputation because this is their business, they will not allow some bad news like drug scandals to taint their name. As for Brands it is just the same, business is business for them, they don't want to lose consumers or profits. So they would rather cut ties with him than further damage everything. Definitely this is not destroying a career. Like you've said he can come back if will try to do rehab. Unless he is willing to do it.
I think you did not get my point. I said "without investigating this, it would be unfair for those actors that also used drugs before that was investigated too." Even if filming is not going to start anytime soon, the fact that he is being investigated already have a big negative impact to Netflix & brands if they still took him in. You just said earlier "there isn't anything suggesting that Yoo Ah In has ever had a violent episode. " Even if so, this could still be dangerous for his co-actors, as we can't say what will happen next.
He should have not taken his career for granted meaning he should not have done this kind of thing. That is what I meant.
Thank you for respecting it. But I still believe it is 50/50 for his situation.

That will still depend on the results of the investigation especially that he not only used marijuana and propofol, he also tested positive for cocaine and ketamine. This is a very serious one. Destroying his career? This is not destroying his career. This is just from your point of view. Even if you say he did not have a violent episode. Yes. He needs to seek professional help but I do not agree with him still continuing to film dramas or movies. Netflix just did the right thing. Especially if this could jeopardize the production of Hellbound season 2. If they let him go back to work without invetigating this, it would be unfair for those actors that also used drugs before that was investigated. Also stop saying this "is on his country" when police officers are just doing their jobs. He is an actor. He should have already known what are the dire consequences when he took those drugs. He should not have taken his career for granted. It's very hard to enter the entertainment world. Do you know that if Netflix did not take away his role they could be also charged while the investigation is ongoing.
Just look at B.I's drug scandal, Seoul Central District court sentenced the K-pop idol to a four-year probation for his alleged purchase of marijuana and LSD in 2016.
