I'm on ep 4 and OMG this drama stressed me out lol how could she not crumbling inside out with all the things that's happening to her. Like, I get that she's supposed to have a positive and cheerful personality to serve as a contrast to the ML, but to make her so easy going while everyone else around her are busy trying to clean up her mess?
Okay i cried a bit during the final eps. But I'm still a little confused
What is up with the guy being thrown a few floors down, he was yiyong's father right? The scene showed up twice and there was no connection to anything else in the show. When did that happen? And why? Does it mean we're going to get a season 2????
Just finished ep 7 and it's really fun, entertaining but also heartwarming. But i feel like i'm missing a lot…
Guangyan's surprised pikachu face always cracks me up XD it's so funny how he's supposed to be the genius of the group but he's so gullible and always takes yiyong's words so seriously, every single time.
While I respect the effort to show that women have rights, should not mean minimizing men. I find very wrong that…
In defense of the solar term ladies, the third lord did not care about their feelings either. They were basically scammed into marriage. Despite being depicted in a comical way, the third lord is basically a narcissist who disregards his partner's opinions every step of the way. Some could say he's just a product of patriarchy but starving his wives just to make them look prettier? To the point of them being sick? Honestly taking birth control pill is about the last line of defense the girl could take for themselves, taking back their agency from just being a pretty face who can make babies. It doesn't even directly cause harm to the third lord, if any, we should be worried for the ladies cause birth control pills could have side effects for the one who takes it.
Just finished ep 7 and it's really fun, entertaining but also heartwarming. But i feel like i'm missing a lot of cultural reference that got lost in translation. I wish i knew someone who understands chinese characters so i could bother them to explain all those reference to me hahah.
I'm on ep 2 and... well, I don't play violin but even I can tell that the the ML actor was faking it soo badly lol. also, I'm so annoyed with how the dubbing was mixed in the middle of sentences every time they change camera angle. It's not a huge thing but fells jarring and really disturb the flow of the scenes. Seriously, for a drama that's supposed to be about a singer, the audio quality is just, bleh.
This drama is really aesthetically pleasing for me. I like the pastel coloring and the soft focus, enhanced by the osts, very calming. I also really like how they pay attention to details, such as the architectures and ornaments, the costumes, make up, and accessories, how they make the distinction between the 9 provinces(?). If all else fails, at least the artistic direction is definitely right up my alley. That being said, i also like how they make this drama feels light despite also touching some heavier issues. As several comments have mentioned, certain arcs/conflicts could have been handled better. But at the end of the day i still finished this drama feeling better and on a happier mood. I'm not even mad with the FL characters, even though i'm usually annoyed with this kind of ditzy and clueless type of FL. Also, i came here because of bai jing ting, but even though he's not really the main focus here, i still enjoyed this drama very much.
I'm checking this out because i've just watched zhao yutong on nothing but you. Apparently it was... not a good…
The male lead's acting was so stiff, and even zhao yutong's acting feels a bit over the top. I'm on ep 9 and i still can't figure out everyone's intentions, motivations, i just don't understand why they do/say one thing and then proceeds to contradict it the next moment. For the sake of drama? And their inability to communicate is just, on another level. Not to mention alllll the tropes... i mean, it's not wrong to utilitize tropes, but here it's just feels... cringey. This is the type of drama which i have to leave logic outside of the door before watching it, i guess.
I'm on ep 13, so far it's been pretty entertaining, except that
The chaofeng-qingkui arc so far feels very icky to me. I mean, sure, both sisters' arc with their respective partners have been built based on lies. But at least yetan never really meant any actual harm to anyone. Chaofeng, however, legit wants to kill kui at some point, and now he's suddenly in love while still decepting kui. It makes me want to skip every scene on the void realm because it all just feels so vile. No matter whatever sob story he cooks up for kui, i just can't root for him for now. Poor kui, she deserves so much better.
There are some bits and pieces, which i think would make this a good story. However the pacing, the way the story was structured, the acting (in some parts), and lots of other factors really did not help to convey it properly. It feels disjointed, and the tonal shift between the lighter and the heavier parts feels too abrupt. The first half of the stories makes it feels like nothing happens, at all. But then everything was dumped into the second half and suddenly it feels like i am watching an entirely different series, its giving me a total whiplash.
I'm almost at the end of ep 3 and i really can't stand people around the FL
The heck, even the best friend keep pressuring her to accept the proposal from the ex. Girl, just go and get a new best friend, preferably one who is better at recognizing red flags on problematic men. Smh. Not to mention her scheming colleague (it's not even worth spending my brainspace to figure out that he's the culprit). Thankfully she got the two juniors that looks like they'll support her to the end of the world.
That aside. The situation about marriage pressure is just too damn real. People blaming her for her unwillingness to settle are gross, but sadly very common.
I was curious and looked it up. It is indeed discouraged. The only clear suggestion I found is that blood from…
I don't watch this drama so i may not have the full context but even parents can have different blood type than their kids, so, i don't see what's the problem? (More like, parents or not, what matters is whether the blood type is compatible, afaik. So yeah, now that i think about it, it is odd to point out parental relation as reason for blood transfusion compatibility)
Totally get that! I'm the same, only now just getting back into cdramas after Meet Yourself and this drama! Both…
I have watched reset too, it's pretty good! And i'm also planning to watch go ahead when i have time again. Thanks for the other reccs too, i'll try to check them out ^^
Just finished the first episode and I don't understand how the FL was supposed to be labelled as adorable. Despite her reason, the way she acted would definitely creeps anyone out. Not cute.
That being said, i also like how they make this drama feels light despite also touching some heavier issues. As several comments have mentioned, certain arcs/conflicts could have been handled better.
