I'm upset that I'm extremely shallow to the point I have to drop this because I'm just not into the male lead.…
When I first saw him (only his pictures), I was very much disappointed with his casting as the ML (yeah I have a shallow side too) but after watching him in motion, he grew on me...visually, he's not a Zhang Ling He or a Yang Yang but he's still charming imho+ his acting is more convincing than the ML of Red Moon Pact (who was more attractive btw)
Happy 14th Birthday Lester!!🎂🎈 May your future be bright and successful✨️ Saw his birthday photoshoot and he looks like a lil Zhang Ling He on it, it's uncanny🤭
This is definitely an upgrade compared to the first installment. I enjoyed those first 6 episodes and hope it won't go downhill from there *crossing fingers*
Hou Ming Hao/Chen Yuqi's cameos were delightful to watch but too short unfortunately *need more* I'm most surprised by our ML, Leon Zhang whom I didn't have the chance to watch in anything before...his acting reminds me of Cheng Yi and he's quite charming as well (pictures don't give him justice tbh, he looks better in motion) As for Liu Shi Shi, she's still the Queen of elegance, I like her style and think she suits the role quite well+ her chemistry with Leon Zhang is very good imo. Looking forward to their romance.
As for the supporting cast, they're nice and have better chemistry with each other than the ones in Red Moon Pact imho. Hope it stays that way (special mention to Wu Xuan Yi, she's an absolute sass and her partnership with Zhai Xiao Wen is full of badassery)
PS: Can't wait for more screentime of Xiao Ding in next episodes😍
Watched 11 episodes and it's a pretty decent watch (enough to pass time I'd say) but there's a catch, drama is only available on MangoTV (for intl audience) and Tencent (Chinese version)+ MangoTV subs are terrible (and a headache) compared to other platforms such as iQIYI, Youku or WeTV. Don't expect quality unless you're fluent in Chinese and don't need to rely on subs.
Better wait for more episodes...watched 2 episodes and it was okay (typical c-historical, nothing new) I'll soldier through more episodes for my girl Lu Yu Xiao and Wang Hong Yi...It might get better (it's 40 episodes after all...I don't want to write it off yet) and I'm in a slump sooooooo...
😤 I'm so upset with MangoTV😤...since episode 11, subs are out of sync thanks to a fucking ad added out of nowhere...I paid for a subscription, I expect at least some quality! *sigh*
Is there anyone watching this besides me? I feel kind of alone here🤣 Xia Zhi Guang is probably my main draw but that's not like the FL is a nobody?? Qin Lan is pretty well-known and a good actress. Why not more popular? It hit 20000 heat index on Tencent and originally it's a MangoTV drama....
Sorry but I'm one of those who likes clear cut endings. Open endings are just a lazy way to end a show imo. Expect…
Dramas que je suis actuellement: * Eat Run Love (frustrant également) * Home About Us (Xia Zhi Guang) * Always Home * When Life Gives You Tangerines But also 'I'm Nobody' and 'The Bond'
IMO, neither the FL or the best friend deserve an happy ending as things stand. They're incredibly self-centered and entitled. FL treats ML like sh*t and is deadset on giving him a hard time just because she's still bitter and never really moved on from the break-up. As for the friend, she chose her career and money over love...fine but why should her old flame accept her with open arms now that she's going through a divorce? SMH Men are written as spineless doormats and lovefools in this drama. As a female viewer, that's not appealing at all. People in the past complained a lot about the male leads' toxic behavior (wrist grab, force kiss etc...) but I see no difference with what the screenwriters are doing nowadays with their female characters...trampling on someone's dignity/feelings/dreams is a toxic trait as well. Period.
Boy owes you nothing. Not happy? Get the hell out of his life instead of hurting him and forcing him to do things he wasn't willing to do in the first place (jeopardizing the livelihood of countless employees and partners for example...selfish much?) Sorry but none of them are likeable as characters. Even the ML's best friend (3rd FL?) has redeemed herself...She was annoying in the beginning but now has changed for the better (sweet, funny and supportive) Same for Feng Sheng (still I blame him for not saying the truth about that fake marriage earlier) Only staying for Chen Feiyu, that's for sure. Rant over/
PS: I'm the one who changed it.
