Fact is people tend to be more attracted to morally grey characters/bad boys/villains. Why? Because most of the audience fancies those kind of characters (your pp proves it, Xie Wei was more popular than Gong Ziyu with the audience. Zhang Linghe even had to apologize on behalf of his character *rolleyes*...Gong Shang Jue/Gong Yuan Zhi were audience's favorites).
It's not that the acting is better, those roles just allow actors to showcase their range better. Goodie two-shoes characters are extremely difficult to play and are rarely liked by the audience because they're mostly seen as weak, bland and boring. Being kind/nice is seen as a weakness in our societies, that's the sad reality we're living in *sigh* As for me, be it a green flag or a red flag character, I don't mind as long as the character is well-written and that it appeals to me. As for Deng Wei, I'm expecting a lot of his haters to have a change of heart when this drama will air.
Zeng Shunxi is a decent actor (I enjoyed his performance in MLC) and though he may not be everyone cup of tea looks-wise, he has that charm that won you over. As a Deng Wei fan, it upsets me to see him dragged into this. This person is clearly trolling (stumbled upon one of her post in another thread, stirring things up) Best thing to do is ignore it.

He Landou was terrible in 'Tiger&Crane' imo (that's why I wasn't keen to see her again... thanks God she's better here)...as for LTG's actor, considering the guy has no acting background, I will cut him some slack, he's pretty decent imo.
