yes he achieved it he got the rising star award from hawaai international film festival in 2007.also international star award from biejing film festival he looked so worried when he could not understand the interview questions from english reporters in his hawaian interview and had to wait for translation and then again when he could not answer in english. the movie was koreas representation in oscars and recently milla jovovich also said that she knew lee joon gi from the movie . but was surprised by him in the recent movie. he recieved critical recognition world wise.

yes he got popular after moonlovers but its not the same popularity craze like he got during 2006-2009 that was the time when he wrote history in korean entertainment that was just another level i dont think i have seen any other korean actor get that kind of crazy following for a role that was not even a romantic heartthrob or a narcist rich prince that kind of popularity was just fabulous to achieve.that was his peak

well neither lee joon gi nor moon chae won are in the prime of their popularity if they want popular actors they would have cast lee min ho or song joon ki or gong yoo they are casted because tthe production team felt they are good for the roles. and lee joon gi is a damn versatile actor. people believed he was a girl when he acted as girl, they thought he was gay in real life when he acted as gay in a movie, many were even shocked and scared by how how dangerous his expressions can be when he acted as a crazy prince even if his face was half covered with mask and can you tell me how many actors in the world can show this diverse range of characters ? he is a third 3rd degree black belt in taekwondo and 1st degree in other two his fight scenes are considered the best in korean entertainment world and he looked baddass in his fight scenes with milla jovovich in resident evil, he is considered an A++ actor in korea.

and i agree with jun ki being pegion holed because any one who has seen his king and the clown, two weeks, time between dog and wolf, iljimae and scarlet heart will definetly know that he is A++++ actor but he still has lot of chances to change his image because he still relevant popularity wise and i think its changing. just like jang hyuk was pegion holed but his last project was great even though it dint became popular

moon lovers would win for me. i love jang hyuk but for me he dint fit as wang so, it was not about acting though. where as lee joon ki was perfect for wang so he started so pathetic and person with no confidence to developing into someone with confidence and who does not give a damn to what people think about him later. sorry to say but even in acting i would give props to lee joon ki in this comparision delivering those expressions with a mask and specially when camera is put two feets away from your face is marvellous. and the sparks of crzy gwangjong that shined through lee joon ki wins
while female lead i would give it to the actress from SOGC its not that IU is bad but she gives some awkward shots which degrades her good acting actually and about chemistry i think both the pairs had wonderful chemistry , its just the character of rouxi or hae soo is presented in the novel as some one who does not fully trust the 4th and there the downfall begin so i can not have any complains about that.
hwangbo yeon hwa definitely would go to SOGC. kang hana was good but she was not given much time to portray.
the rest of the supporting cast of scarlet definitely wins for me
for 8 th prince lim ju hwan wins because ha neul could not make the ambitious side of his character shine as much as his romantic side.
story telling wise i preferd moon lovers, i skipped alot while watching SOGC
i must be in minority but even the ending of moon lovers wins for me its kind of impossible ending but still a hope which leaves you asking more.
actually it felt like there is more to moon lovers because many things were untold and may be were planned to reveal in next season because there were a lot of hints about it in the show that is why i think directing and even editing is genius in moonlovers.

LOL after more than 1000 years what genes and what great grand children it will be great great great.............. grand children. even today people marry with in family after 5 or 6 generations

i hate this show with a passion and also love this show with a passion just like passion of these characters that is why i will never forget this show

no the 8th prince is not such a simple character he was already aiming for the throne when he said to his sister"wang so can sit on the ceremonial chair as he suffered and i have some other seat waiting for me to sit on" that is when his sis realised he wants to sit on throne and started planning because she was happy her brother shared same goals as her and started doimg all the things for him to succeed to throne. then again one day he suddenly said "i dont want to be on throne because i want hae soo" then his sister got angry did things for herself". all he had to do was to keep his mouth shut when he found his sister also had a hand in poisoning wang moo and say to his sister what ever she did he will not sit on throne but he instead said you can do what ever because he realised his ambition for throne is as strong as his liking for hae soo he thought once he got the throne he can win hae soo back, not to mention how he always tried to impress his father but was also ready to kill the same father along with yo LOL what kind of family protection is that?and in my view he just liked hae soo because she was different but atr the end of his life he realised that the person he truly loved was his wife.

but i bet she knew the ninth was working for eigth and dint say aword because she wanted to protect ninth as she knew the 4th and 8th were at each others head

its a trajedy

this is the only drama of lee joon gi that i did not wholeheartedly like. it was like something missing .............in the last half of the script, i dint like it. not the acting though it was fabulous as ever and soo hyuk surprised me i thought he deserved a fabulous end but everything went missing for me.
