I think that the main goal, besides getting Jung Woo and Do Gun together (which I loved), was for Do Gun to actually…
What Laura and Jung Woo were doing is still despiacable but in fairness Do Gun was not really happy there anymore. When they were at the beach he admitted he wanted to open his own restaurant long ago but he did not have the courage and that he also felt burnt-out as he was unable to top his famous dish. In his new place as we saw, his creativity has returned.
After episode 6 I was honestly sceptical if they can wrap this up and smooth over with two short episodes, but actually they managed to. The only drawback is that Choi Jung Woo did not have the courage to tell Yoon Do Gun everything by himself. But eventually he was willing to quit and reveal everything, and Yoon Do Gun realized he must have resigned long ago and he should open his own restaurant.
If you are talking about episode 6, maybe you were mislead by some translation, because Choi talked about a dish…
I don't know Korean, so probably he does not. But since the restaurant is nearby the Spanish steps, maybe that is what they tried to imply (even if the Spanish steps in Rome has little to do with Spain).

He worked in a Spanish restaurant in Rome that was in Piazza di Spagna, close to the Spanish steps, that is why he talked about the name of the dish in Spanish.
It's not bad. I love it. Atleast watch it for yourself and form an opinion rather than just going with what everyone's…
I have just written under another show that you should never let yourself swayed and discouraged by comments from watching something you are curious about. I have started to watch a Pinoy show with overwhelmingly negative comments and I was very satisfied with it. You should especially be critical about mydramalist comments. This board is over-represented by forever moaners.
Another excellent example that you should never let yourself swayed and discouraged by comments (especially here on MDL) to watch something you are curious about. Always go and watch and see it for yourself. Despite the overwhelmingly negative comments here I binge-watched the first 5 episodes yesterday and actually I quite like it, it is pretty good. No great shakes, but interesting story line, amiable characters and quite neat performances.
It is not true that Jethro is unlikable. He was a bit of an arse in episode 1 but he apologized for his behaviour almost instantly and ever since then he has bee treating Mario with respect and care. Mario is idealistic and has little self-confidence but there are loads of people like him and this character is presented in an interesting and sympathetic way.
And yikes, once again a typical straight woman take on the relationship of gay guys. No, it is not playing with someone if you start a relationship where you are there for two months only. They are two consenting adults, they both start it by being aware of this. They can always change plans, Mario can move to the US with Jethro, Jethro could ask for being transferred to Manila, they can depart, whatever. It is all up to them. No love would ever start if people were always waiting for all circumstances being ideal. Jethro is obviously serisous about his intentions.
Since it is the story of Mario's first love from 4 years ago, told in retrospect, from his new apartment which he rented because it is close to Jethro's place, it is more likely that it was Mario who eventually fucked that up. I think it is possible that it remains the story of a first love with no reconciliation. I am fine either way, so far it is pleasant enough, but I hope they do reconcile.
Are we sure Madame Laura is about to fire Do Gun? The creators want us so much to think that way I started to wonder there might be a twist. Laura said at the beginning that she has ambitions and she wants to open a chain of restaurants. She never replies to Choi Jung Woo whether she plans to fire Do Gun. And when she told Choi Jung Woo that she and Do Gun have both rights over the special dish, that issue won't go away even if Do Gun is fired. And if the conspiracy scenario is right, making Choi Jung Woo the head chef was way too early.
That's like saying the opinion of the majority is always correct. This is always a logical fallacy. It's good…
It is not even the majority. Mydramalist comment section is generally filled with overwhelming negativity and they are not representative. If you look at YT, Insta, various Facebook groups, Viki, etc, the range of opinion is much wider. Loads of people liked and appreciated this one.
What you call "hate-filled comments" is called critique and is necessary for the development of each everyone.…
What I call hate-filled comments are the hate-watchers who instead of abandoning a project they don't like they spew their venom over several weeks. I have detailed my opinion about this show quite elaborately and extensively over the past weeks, as well as about why the so-called "critics", many of whom apparently just jump on a bandwagon, say utter balls. If you are so curious, go back and check. I am not gonna waste my time and energy to copy and paste for you. I am sick of this bunch anyway.
David Bigander and the entire cast and crew, thank you for this magnificent experience. If you ever happen to wander around here, please do not be let down by the vicious and hate-filled comments. Bear in mind that there are plenty of us you have rewarded with a unique and unforgettable series, and we are all very grateful to you. I hope to see more from you in the future. Keep up.
