The show is a hit or miss because of it’s extreme crackhead energy. Definitely not recommended at those who tend to cringe a lot in exaggerated Asian dramas. Otherwise, welcome to this wackey ride :D

This is only up to chapter 16 so there could be more to the story, or maybe the series could change something (which I’m suspecting since their parents are sus).

I didn’t read the novel and only got spoilers, but in the novel Gene didn’t want to listen at all and left without letting Nubsib explain. The whole moment of silence was something the series added. The explanation is that Nubsib didn’t want Gene to think of him as a little brother, and Gene mentally agrees with that point.

I agree, can’t tell why some people are saying Bruce is a bad actor but that’s just their opinion. I would like to give a honorable mention to Up though, he makes me feel all types of mixed emotions and really shows Gene’s introverted-ness and hidden longing for companionship quite well.

I think the story just hasn’t shown us Nubsib’s real side enough yet, but I do agree about the acting part somewhat, it just feels like there’s something missing in Kao’s acting.

Same here! I think after this situation passes and everything get explained then we’ll finally start seeing the real him.

This is kinda long, but I think that Nubsib is so inexperienced to the point where he almost completely relies on things he’s learned in workshops and (possibly) Gene’s novel to get together with Gene. He uses these to create this “charming prince” persona and to hide his more aggressive self due to possible insecurities. I think this might be why he kept saying stuff like “let me explain” and “ I have a reason” despite him never explaining even when Gene went silent. He might be so predisposed to these cliches to the point where they’re all he can do with his lack of knowledge in relationships, his insecurities about his true self, and also the pressure of the moment in general. So I think this might be why he never told Gene about the real reason of why he tricked him to begin with. Anyways just a short analysis :D

I feel like by the end of the day, no one is truly going to be the antagonist (among the significant characters).

Well I can’t hate him after knowing everything he’s been through, but I just get a really strange vibe from him and can’t connect with his character a lot. It’ll probably change once we know more about him though.

Starting to get the feels that Nubsib might have a mask over a mask. Of course he has that flirty boy trope, but I feel like his more grumpy side around everyone else (besides Gene) is also a mask. I mean, just look at the way he talks to Gene when he takes off his flirty mask. He seems like such a different person around him, maybe Nubsib could be protecting his emotions from something. But it could also just be because he likes Gene so like.. sksksjmddkid..
