lol <3 , yes it is korean drama.
Do you see already what i meant with similarity? Im sure there is more titles what fit into this list, what deal with thous questions.
First glance all four titles are different but...
When i read it, i didnt know does i want laugh or cry bc i remembered all thous moments when i have seen drama where subs are like crypted by madman...meaning: i can read words but they dont make sence.
Often after some time this gets fixed and version with accurate subs is uploaded but there are dramas what have still thous google-monkey subs.
I havent keeped track on subing teams, maybe i should do it bc there are teams who do excellent work what is better than some official subs.
Anyway - big bow to all subers who have given me opportunity to injoy all thous dramas and movies <3

Your samples are from USA, its not same (jet) with asian drama,one reason why we all here love asian dramas what are adaptations.Huge asian manga/manhwa fanbase are really passionate about their 2D heroes and never forgive mistreat.Other point is- to asian drama production is local success more vital than international one bc without local viewer they are doomed but can live without international audience Asian production values local fans more than western one who doesnt care (i have seen it).Its like oranges and apples.
Being gorgeous from head to toe? Again this is personal preference, what is gorgeous to one is lame to other aso.Here isnt general standards if we talk about looks.Acting is littlebit diferent thing.

Um...certain aesthetic criteria....its kinda tricky thing bc actualy there isnt one what is general standard.

But if used aesthetic criterias suit majority of audience ( meaning: drama is popular, has wide fanbase and sells well) then thous criterias (including charater design) are chosen right.

:D I must disagree with you...mostly producers go for sure kill if adapted original is very popular and has wide fanbase.They try to keep close to original and make changes only if this is impossible(curling one not jet so popular actors hair is simple thing)by some reason Mutilation of widely popular original leads mostly into failure of adaptation bc fresh/new part of audience who dont konw original is minority.
Other part is just personal taste "thingie", I liked BOF hair bc thous where "into character", how i remembered them. And about Longstockings hair - when i was kid i found her hair to be most ugliest in the world and pitied her...now im adult and more tolerant.

um...BOF...thous curls where must bc it is part of characters in original manga - his trademark, so without LMH wouldnt be right. So you cant blame stylist or anybody. You has knollage about doing movies,you should know this kind things <3 ( its similar to Pippi Longstocking's haircolor and weird pigtails)
p.s. and in drama it is even light version of what main guy had in manga.
...i dont think all thous hairstyles are horrible, i liked few of them alot... to be honest - its greatly up to personal taste what you like or dont like and there isnt standarts for it. So i look to this article like expression of just one persons likes and dislikes.

For mine taste it is too shoujo but i did know that when i started drama bc i have peeked manhwa. Reason why i watch it is to see how JKS deals with this role and how deals with role main female actor.
Til now im not so impressed bc only one with whom im kinda ok is IU. Main male leads are weak. JKS just piled up alot of poseing and fanservice,he dont take this role seeriously, second male lead... he has some chemistry with IU but with other actors not. He feels out of place in this drama, like mistake. Some supporting actors are good. Mostly i watch it bc just now i maybe can use this drama for Juniko Chronicles but im not sure does i endure it til end.
