If anything I feel like this show has set a new standard of what a young couple in love looks like in cdrama because sometimes it feels like I'm intruding on their privacy.

I also enjoyed watching FL being able to fight in Ep20. I know that she was more known for a role in an action series and it shows because she looked awesome.

There is a voice actor credited for LTY so the FL is dubbed.

It was super heartbreaking when he was yelling at them that they will die if they run and then they knowingly killed themselves rather than stay alive. It was horrific, tbh a clean death is too good for the 8 Palace leaders.

I don't think there is forgiveness in the future. The 8 Palace cultivators are truly evil so I think he will still punish them. I think the concern was that the ML will go berserk and kill everyone, including innocent mortals.

My theory is that since he controls the path to cultivation in this world, he'll somehow cut that off and they will become mortals. It sounds kind of lame but in cultivation novels, being a mortal is pretty much the absolute worst because you have no power and short lived like ants. For beings obsessed with power and immortality this would be a nightmare. I have not read the novel and I don't care to, this is just my theory based on reading and watching a lot of cultivation based media.

A few thoughts:
I hate that the bad guys lived.
The actor playing Shi Qianlu is doing a great job because I want to punch his face whenever he's on.
Ruling is starting to disappoint me.
Immortals actually exist and they didn't do squat regarding the plight of the ML's people. (I didn't know they exist in this world so I am disappointed by them too. Also if they didn't want him to cause the great catastrophe...wouldn't it have been just easier to let him die?)
The ML hanging out in FL's soul manor made me chuckle. It's like her bf wrecked his place so he just moved himself into her nicer apt and he's now just chilling there.
This dual cultivation was way more steamy compared to the one in Immortal Ascension.

Hooly crap Episode 12 - what kind of grimdark storyline did I just watch? Wow the evil and cruelty of the cultivators here is like beyond 10 and it was kind of traumatic. A nuke is too good for these people, does this world not have like divine or heavenly retribution because it is needed here.

Yes in the very beginning they show her modern self and her name is Zou Yan. Apparently the actual LYT was snooping around the mountain and damaged her soul manor? Which is when ZY entered LYT so she is trying to piece together her host's identity as well (not very enthusiastically, I think given the chance she would've been fine sleeping through the whole thing).

I am baffled. Is the international cdrama market so much larger for Disney+ that Tencent won't put this on their own WeTV English app? I have all the subs (including D+) but I don't really watch D+ for cdramas. Just confused that apparently there are 6 episodes out but US subscribers still can't see any of them. I guess I will wait for either D+ or Viki to eventually make this available.

I agree, she is endearing to watch. In some other shows, the FL is obviously cute-coded in the script so they are supposed to be quirky and their antics are supposed to be lovable and endearing to the ML but it can come across as just cringe and frustrating to watch. But the FL here is delightful to watch so it's easy to see why the ML would not kill her right away.

Was not expecting otter nor the reason for why it's an otter. It was so unexpected and hilarious 🤣 She is lazy but also so witty like describing what is a jerk and hopeless romantic on the spot This show is such a whiplash like I laugh and then get horrified by the casual murder and apparently children trafficking for nefarious purposes. These are some of the most evil cultivation people I have ever seen. I am in favor of ML just burning it all.

I have realized ML's true superpower is actually playing mind games. Also when the Serene Vale master sincerely asked if his reward can be that the FL NOT be killed if she messed up, I laughed when he just answered "No".

The ex-bf plot was unexpected and hilarious, of course she would make that sort of conclusion from getting pink flowery notes late at night. I also like the little details like how at 3am she is still snacking on food. This is such a different cultivation themed show, it has a sitcom feel but still pretty enjoyable.

Wow Ep 6 backstory is so dark and messed up especially the reason why his people's remains are just bones ...😦 The episodes seem to go so quickly, really enjoying this.

I am also envious of how she can sleep anywhere, anytime. Amazing powers right there.

This is hilarious. I have a soft spot for MCs who just want to live the good life without drama but the universe has other plans. I have never seen this FL before but she is funny and adorable, fits her role. It's not going to be a work of art but it's entertaining and fast paced so far.

I laughed about this first time I saw the donghua too. Like my man has auto-loot on all the time like how i play my games.

Finally caught up! What a great ending, it just got better and better and wrapped everything up so well. Also so many "huh...did NOT see that one coming" heh.

This was a pivotal scene imo for his journey but it looks like they didn't leave this out but moved it to before going to the Yellow Maple Valley sect.

No I take this entire post back. They just rearranged a few things from donghua so the scene I referenced seems to come up later. This adaptation is pretty good so far.

As a fan of the donghua I thought it's a pretty good adaptation so far. Even the start is the same although I did hope to see his Weeping Soul. I didn't have high expectation so I am quite pleased but those expecting romance heavy plots will be disappointed. There is practically no romance in the donghua and I would expect the same to be the case here.
