He was perfect for the Untamed. I remember in 1 serious scene he didn't hold his smile back (editors probably missed it or they just hoped it wouldn't be obvious) and it had me dying xD
I personally think Mei is going to be the manipulative one.
Oh yeah for sure, from the upcoming scenes I've seen she will probably become bitter and consequently manipulative. But for episode 1 its mainly Asada who's acting manipulative, no doubt he will change for the better in next episodes but his first impression isn't that great.
Interesting first episode. I have never seen japanese drama with LGBTQ+. So I am definitely gonna watch second…
Watch ''Fujoshi, Ukkari Gei ni Kokuru'' for a highschool LGBT story and ''Kinou Nani Tabeta'' for just a normal wholesome LGBT story. In those dramas their orientation is much more explored and I'm assuming this drama won't do that as much.
Yeah knowing Japan she will likely end up in a straight relationship. Especially considering they call this ''Sixteen syndrome'' as a way of labelling it a temporary fase of life. Of course I'm not sure but just basing this on my experience with Japanese stories.
So far (Episode 1) I think the girls relationship is indeed not based on love but dependence which can be toxic as they'll probably show in later episodes. They're cute together though. I don't like the main guy yet as he comes off as intolerant and very manipulative but I'm sure he'll grow a bit someday.
wow people are really watching this without subs huh
Watched without subs but had no problems considering that the faces are very expressive and the scenes very simple. Yes knowing some basic Japanese like ''Youkai'' as Monster and ''Ningen'' as Human will help.
Watched the movie with some basic knowledge of Japanese and a tiny bit of Chinese. It was understandable what was happening but I couldn't follow the ending unfortunately. The environment was beautiful to look at, some of the film-techniques were a bit random though.
Anyway, I hope someone finds it with subs sometime in the future so I can understand the ending better.
I watched it to get some perspective on the early 2000s anime scene. It was interesting to see the different fangroups, old animation/manga and old cosplays.
Yeah the chemistry was definitely there! Its one of my favourite lighthearted romance cdramas as well (granted I have not seen that much). Its also a bit more normal than what I was used to with ''King is not Easy'', ''Crazy queen'' and ''The Eternal Love''. I guess I made it a hobby to check out interesting sounding cdrama titles but having one thats a bit more normal is nice.
It was ok but I really didn't care for the foreign politics of Japan and you kinda have to care about that in this drama. Anyway, its the first drama I've seen about Ryukyu kingdom which was interesting to me. The female lead also talks in an interesting way as an Eunuch, very reserved with a lot of short breaks in her speech.
Some of the scenes in this show are so dramatic but I love them. Actors can make pretty convincing mafia bosses after all, they're just a bit too dramatic about it sometimes xD
Episode 1 got me interested but episode 2 got me hooked. The interactions between FL and ML are the best! The romance, thriller-elements and beautiful candy-art mix well.
