End of episode 7 has a really cool female character at the end of the episode and if she were in Game of Thrones for example I can already tell she would've been my favourite character.
Anyway, from the use of the rapier sword I'm going to guess this is supposed to be 16th-17th century Europe and specifically Germany (the text they use). Hope that the cooks business will survive when another disease hits town. In real life what the cook is doing would be a little messed up considering he could be out saving lives with modern medical knowledge but luckily this is a drama. Don't get me wrong though, good food is important as well. Also, no guys showing off their calves? No flamboyant military clothing? This isn't the historical Europe I know xD
I was amused to see the 18th century hair styles in episode 3. Well, Western, right? King Louis XIV in the Crusades.…
Yeah I think you just gotta watch this series while keeping in mind that they mostly use the Japanese RolePlaying game view of medieval Europe. I would say its sorta like the Fire Emblem games characters except no fantasy stuff. Don't get me wrong, that won't stop me from commenting on the historical inaccuracies either because I like history xD
It's been a while since I watched this but the ending made me think he values the two robots as good friends and…
Y'know, it's complicated but I still think it's a poly-relationship considering the feelings they had and the actions they've done. In a poly-relationship not all involved persons have to love each other. The set up of the story was that male lead loves female robot, female robot loves male robot and male robot loved male lead.
They are clearly more than just friends and also don't have a family-dynamic like brother/sister or parent/child (a family-dynamic would make what happened in certain episodes very creepy). I don't think the feelings they had for their respective loves ever disappeared. If I saw three people who weren't family living together like the characters do in this drama I would probably assume they were polyamorous after a while. However, it is open for interpretation of course since they don't show much of their life at the end. Considering the amount of things they've done to win each others love I still see it as a poly-relationship.
That Bowser (from Mario games) laugh at the beginning though. Really recommend people to watch this, not particularly for the romance (although it is cute in some parts) but for the comedy. I think the rating is a bit low because you really don't want to focus on the romance here as a viewer. Basically a scammer guy tries to earn money for his wedding but ends up getting a gay guy he tried to scam killed. The scammer gets possessed during his wedding and a priest has to try and exorcise him while also confronting his own demons.
I don't know about this drama in particular but the SNL sketch with 2PM about this show is gold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXxTgrpBNyA No spoilers since its just a random parody.
I definitely felt the effect of dragging with some lakorns but still lakorns can have very interesting stories to tell. And yeah the Popcorn-struggle is real, have dealt with that one recently. I started out with Thai series but also like watching lakorns and have done so for a while now, discovered them thanks to following some tags.
Well, if I ever can watch this movie somewhere I will because it has Jun Ho in it. Its from Japan though so I don't have high expectations of seeing a Eng sub anytime soon.
It was fun but a bit too much filler in my opinion. Lots of comedic scenes and slow romance. I personally watched it to see the misunderstandings resolved and for the comedy. Romance of the first couple turned out pretty wholesome though, wasn't as big of a fan of the second couple but it was ok.
I think they may have been fans of the Matrix movie based on some of the scenes in this movie xD Anyway, this was a time when this virtual world concept was still quite novel. Nowadays its been done a lot more.
Wow that mother though, I guess they needed some plot device to get things darker but she really had no chill. Besides that, imagine being the wholesome secondary couple in this and seeing all this psycho stuff happen with the brother and his boyfriend. Secondary couple has an actual healthy relationship as far as I'm concerned and I love them. Main couple is problematic and I get some people like their dynamic but in real life this sort of stuff is traumatic and manipulative. There were plenty of signs that the relationship was toxic even in the first movie though. Would've loved seeing them in a healthy relationship but I guess Chinese media doesn't like to focus on that.
A pre-ban BL from China. Its got some cute moments but also some darker ones. In my opinion Chinese BL has a tendency to use assault a bit too much in their BLs, a definite red flag for any relationship. The kisses are nothing special in regards to modern standards of BL in Asia, there just seems something missing and mayby its cause they don't show as much chemistry and focus on obsession a lot more. When they are together as a couple without all the drama (very rare) its cute though. Anyway, it has actual BL moments in a Chinese production so at least theres that.
Currently still waiting for fansubs to finish all the episodes but it's quite a dramatic show up till now with lots of things happening. I'm glad Japan is at least willing to show this sort of perspective in their media.
Same but at least Yuri had a chance to say goodbye this time. Do I agree with her choice? No but I understand…
Well yes during their lives mothers are expected to make sacrifices for their children but we're talking beyond the grave here. She has sacrificed her life twice and the second time it was just so her child could live a more convenient life. So considering all the things she did beyond the grave I think she has done more than a usual mother would/could.
This movies concept must've been real popular back in the day since it was remade twice. I'm guessing the original was one of the first movies related to cats in Japan, the first of many.
This is mostly gonna be comments about some historical things I noticed. Its a cute drama but I really thought they would comment on the fact that Europe didn't use chopsticks at all. I think they kinda forgot about that aspect cause the characters transition to using them normally without any comment on it. Also there is this scene where they use thick, soft and pure white bread/sandwich bread. This type of white bread would be fit for kings in medieval Europe so its an understatement that the taste is good. Anyway, its a typical food drama with delicious food. Although with real medieval people all you would've had to do was give them something sweet and they would already freak out. Sugar was rare back then.
