I am currently watching this.
I have an observation about the end of episode 13

The base plot is obviously copied from Welcome to Samdal-ri.
Fair enough. Let's say the basic plot is 100% identical. So, what?
If you are making a simple observation, then fair enough, you are like tons of other posters who made the same observation. Case closed, and you don't have to read the rest.
But, if you are trying to say this is somehow diminish the series, then I beg to differ.

This is not a mystery, or Sci-Fi where a genuinely unique idea make a difference.
This is drama about life. The overwhelming majority of people don't have unique lives.
Furthermore, it is the execution that matters.
I mean, how many of us here on MDL can write a drama even if we copy 100% the plot? A drama is FAR more than just a simple plot and setting.
I can understand that watching similar plots can get repetitive. On that you are right, but if you mix genres when you choose what to watch you should be fine.

Only two Korean shows in the chart, Boy next door and Romance in the house as of August 22, 2024, at 12PM from…
I am talking about the whole world list. It is the simple flixpatrol.com
UK, along with the rest of Western Europe actually not that perceptive to Kdramas (Still a sizeable growing minority, but nothing like the rest of the world) . West Europe has been the toughest market to crack. Hard to say for sure what is the reason, but I think it is the combination of existing local and regional productions, US content is still popular, and differences in cultural and acting ways.

Title Mr. Queen
chat do y'all recommend watching this?
Personally I LOVE it.
I watched 2 or 3 times.
I also lost count how many times I watched my favourite parts. Whenever I get gloomy, I just put it on.
The early episodes are top notch comedy. Shin Hye Sun is marvellous.

FL acted like someone who hit rock bottom. And her antics are like a cry for help. Sadly, no one seemed to care…
You are right overall.
But, I disagree that you need a major event to quit when it comes to burnout. Burnout is all about cumulative effect.
I don't know what will they show us in the drama, but I was making a general obseravtion about burnout.

Looking at Netflix Top 10 today, it is quite amazing that there are 3 South Korean TV shows, and 1 from Thailiand.
Considering that 2 out of Top 10 are not TV shows (one documentary, and one reality show). And also one TV show (Lost) is kind of a classic.
So, that is really more than 50% of the *new* TV series coming from East Asia.
Who would have thought that this happens?

I think it is!!! It is very refreshing and fun! compared to the dramas that come out these days, this show doesn’t…
Thank you.
Btw..off topic question.
If you loved "My Liberation Notes" so much, how comes you haven't watched "My Mister"?

You need to add one of those "I am not a robot" thingy as a condition for replies lol.I also loved "Because This…
No problem :)
Btw, whenver you have a very unpopular opinion you can quote (allegedly) Voltaire when he disliked a widely popular thing "40 million Frenchmen can't be right" lol.

So 2000 ballot-stuffing bots and screaming fangirls have rated this an implausible 8.7 after only two episodes.…
You need to add one of those "I am not a robot" thingy as a condition for replies lol.
I also loved "Because This Is My First Life". It is in my top 10 Kdramas.
I haven't watched MMH.
2 episodes is not enough to judge, but it is enjoyable so far. First episode was Ok, but 2nd was much better. I don't think it will be as good as TIMFL, but it is promising. It is by the same writer of Hometown cha cha cha. So, that should give you an idea. Lots of banter between main couple.

I am probably older than you and I think the Mom line is borderline disgusting. Why is it comedy when a mother…
Meaning of life can be discussed in any form :)
You are entitled to dislike the writing or portrayal. Personally, I don't think the Mother is too exaggerated (apart from the beating). But, the original point I was making is that the Mother storyline has more substance than the banter.
Whether it could have been handled better is another topic.

let me make something clear first. I don't condone the beating, but it is played for laugh neverthless. I disagree with it though.
I actually disagree with the Mother reaction on almost everything.
But, these are real issues and very common. Parents putting unduly pressure on their children. We don't have to like the Mother or agree with her to appreciate that storyline. It has more weight and has more relation with real life and society than mindless funny banter between childhood friends about beans, or toilet.
I actually wasn't too happy by how quickly the mother changed her stance. In my opinion it should have gone longer.
P.S: Art is meant to show disgusting things.

Reading through comments it looks like I am in small minority that thinks the Mom-Daughter is actually the best thing in the series so far.
Sure the leads are both great together, but at this point it is mostly banter which is enjoyable and all good fun, but lacks substance or lasting effect. (It does establish that they are at ease with each other though.)
On the other hand, the Mom line has weight and substance. It discuss a real issue, and apart from the physical beating which I know is for laugh, is my favourite so far, and their interactions (especially the confronation) are probably the best scenes.
Idk, maybe because I am older than the overwhelming majority here.

Except the scenario for Samdalri felt way too staged and fake for it to be engaging, and Doctor Slump was just…
Apart from the physical beating played for laughs , I actually think the Mom's reaction was very realistic. And their confronation scene in E2 was one of the best things so far, particularly the line "..can't you accept me even if I was a failure?" (or something to that effect).
I wish the Mom's softening took longer though. I thought it was too fast.

While the series might have some similarties with others (it is expected tbh. Nothing is 100% original), I think it is doing it better than these 2 mentioned above. I find its balance good so far. I hope it will eventually tone down the exaggerated comedy, and become more serious but still lighthearted.

Really liking it so far! I'm feeling a mix of 'Doctor Slump' and 'Welcome to Salmdalri' here. Also, can't wait…
It was a cute scene indeed lol.
I don't think it was needed for him to trip and fall, but it is Ok. I still had a chuckle when she went "...I have black belt" :)

It tackles serious, modern issues but not in a dark way. There is plenty of humour as well.

If you think the plot is cliché and the comedy fails, why waste your time watching? It seems more productive…
Well, there seems to be universal agreement that it is a cliche.
The difference is that some didn't like it, and some like it.
And, just as some loving it after 1 or 2 episodes, some can also dislike it after 1 or 2 episodes.
For the record..I am actually enjoying it a lot and having good time, but I also realise it is mostly fluff.
