Completely off topic, but if you like to watch a good series from teachers point of view try "Black Dog".
An awsome performance by Ra Mi-ran as a veteran teacher passionate about the wellbeing of students.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
Trying to predict the end when there is time travel and superpowers is almost pointless since anything can happens.BUT,…
Donghee & Grace are flying together :)
These two have such chemistry, and I don't mean it in a sexual way. The two actresses just look good together.
I would certainly watch a drama them being scammers together lol.

I am just curious how many here are going to wait until Sunday to watch both episodes together?
Waiting for the last episode just sucks. So, I am not watching on Saturday.

I largely agree.I never believed that she was trying to kill her.

Thoughts on Ep 10...
* I kind of guessed the accident was staged and the reasons behind it.
* The actual staging itself was a bit hard to believe. How did they know no other cars will pass? How do they know how long it will take him to be gone? But, it is a drama, and as they say in Kdramas "I will let it slide just this one time".
* Donghee transformation to being slim again is also a bit too quick. Actually her whole storyline about weight loss is a bit of meh, and even uncomfortable watch at times.

All that said, it was a very good episode and I enjoyed it a lot, and shed some tears (that is a positive lol). Ina has grown so much as a character, and the uncle is certainly proving to be a softy under his threatning exterior.

I can't say she is my favourite Korean actress, but she is certainly a good one. I have seen her in few things.Probably…
It is Han Gong Ju.

Why?Isn't the quality of the end in terms of writing, logic, flow, and whether it makes sense or not should be…
I beg to differ that the last episode has no commercial relevance.

There are lots of people (maybe even the majority) who place disproprtional importance to the end. So, it is not in the interest of the writer or the studio to have a bad end, or more precisely, unpopular end since good, and bad are relevant and subjective.
In our modern days where series can have multiple lives due to streaming and globalisation, it is actually very important for writers and studios to build a reputation of producing popular dramas so they can have more commission in the future.

..and it is exactly that desire to have more future work that make them ignore the natural flow of things many times in favour of what they think is popular.

Of course some writers are just bad, but when you see characters suddenly start behaving completely differently, or everyone has a mass moral awakining so that we get a happy ending I tend to guess this is pressure from studios forcing writers to have happy ending so people are happy and rate dramas highly.

There are few brave souls who go against the tide, and I have MASSIVE respect for them.

It's been good so far, but I fear for the final episodes. I will certainly downrate the drama to oblivion, if…
Why?
Isn't the quality of the end in terms of writing, logic, flow, and whether it makes sense or not should be the deciding factors?
Of course deducting points for an end that you are not happy with is fair, but "To oblivion"??!!
Does a happy ending even if it is ridiculous (regardless which drama) is better than a sad one that makes sense?
Please, please don't take offense, but this is the type of attitude that make writers sometimes solve things in the most awful way in just 15 mins just to make it a happy ending.

I also want a happy end, but if the story leads us to a sad one, or bittersweet, so be it.

Probably my favourite performance by her was a movie she did some 10 years ago.

A bit off topic, but it might be useful. I have now watched 4 episodes of "The 8 Show", also featuring Chun Woo Hee (it is an ensemble series), and I don't think I can finish it until I finish "The Atypical family".
The character that she plays is*URGGH*. She makes you want to strangle her lol.
All credit to Chun Woo Hee, but it is really hard to watch the same actor in two shows at the same time where you root for them in one, and absolutely hate them in another.

Agreed, eventhough I don't really watch clips/shorts, but I take your word for it.

It is actually No.6 on Netflix including English language. So, it is very popular internationally.
However, despite being a fan of the series from start and I am happy seeing it gaining popularity, I want to STRONGLY make the point that popularity and quality are not the same thing. We shouldn't point out to popularity as a measure of quality or "proof". I am happy for the creators and cast of the show and all that, but I would still watch it even if it had 1% rating and never was on Netflix charts.
I think word of mouth is gaining momentum. Also, lots of people don't start watching from start. They build some episode "reserve" before start watching.
But, I also think the series doesn't have many "catchy" moments. It doesn't have overly romantic scenes, or overly emotional scenes (It hs few, but not massive like some other dramas).
Its strength is in being fresh, largely unpredictable, and just being good overall without being flashy.

I am sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you hated it. I was just trying to say that you have the right to.
I disagree with you on the interpretation of the scene. I think the scene will prove to be important in way or another once it is all revealed. Even if it is irrelevant to the story of the main couple, it will give us some important information for the big picture.
All that said, I can also understand your dislike of this device.

I don't have children, so I can't say with certainty. But isn't a 6 years old child too young to understand the nuances of pregnancy?

This is not about the writer being lazy.
This is just a device that is commonly used in Asian dramas. They reveal the full extent of the scene little by little.
First time I watched Japanese drama it surprised me, but eventually I got used it. It is in all Asian dramas.
Of course, you have 100% the right to still hate it, but my point is this is not specific to this drama, or this writer.

Episode 8 didn’t actually move the show forward. It felt like a messy tapestry of disjointed filler scenes that…
I agree with the overall sentiment, but not to the same extent. As @Ivy above mentioned, there were few important things happening, but I felt that the episode didn't justfy its time, and had a good chunk of filler.

I am just going float an idea.
Imagine if the Bok family didn't lose their powers, but they just got bored from accumulating wealth through lottery & stock. Meanwhile the scammers family wanted to scam them and get caught, but instead of going to Police, they team up doing some scams on some villians. The scammers with their skills, and Bok with their powers. And you can throw a bunch of side relationships between both families.
Not an original idea, but I think it could be a fun series.
