Not really dear. The script isn't always the only reason to watch a drama or to drop it, well at least for me and I personally don't think the script was bad in the first 2 episodes. The behavior of the ML was kinda problematic but it wasn't really out of ordinary. In situations like this in real life, many people don't know how to react properly esp if their love interest is involved. Plus, you said that he acted as if she needed a man to move on and I'm telling you that no it's not his intention. I don't know how you concluded that from the episodes you watched when actually he was only blaming himself in Ep 2 after he realized he screwed up big time. Btw, I am a loyal viewer of this drama so ofc I feel bad when I see people still attacking the ML who's literally a very kind soul.

Excuse me but almost everyone here recognized that the ML was a bit problematic in the 1st 2 episodes (the ML himself admitted to have messed up as well later) but his character development has been enormous starting from the end of Ep 3 onwards. No he doesn't have this mindset "A woman can't do without a man". He's nowhere near that. Even when he did what he did in Ep 2, he wasn't thinking like that. His intention was not to humiliate her nor to look cool in front of her. He had a reason to act like that and he knew he was wrong the way he handled the cheating thing. He is actually a very nice guy who respects her as a woman & her decisions. He even apologized several times for crossing the line. You r ords are really hard to swollow because they are coming from a viewer who only watched 2 episodes from the drama and who didn't see the change of the ML into a better person if not the best person. It's so unfair from you tbh.

I haven't finished it yet and I don't think I will because I want drama to surprise me. I remember the manhwa was all about the struggles of the FL as the king. A very sad character. However, what I found really "tragic" was the back story of the mains. The manhwa didn't focus much on it so I hope the drama will. The ML's father is literally a traitor and ML was about to get executed because of this while his princess mother lost her royal status and became a slave. The FL will be executed too if ever her truth gets revealed. I'm counting on the drama to develop their backstories. Their "crimes" are huge in that period of time. If drama can handle the backstories well, this saeguk will hit big.

All the dramas you mentioned are romcoms that's why it was probably ok for these channels to air it. Even the Moonlight & the Sungkyunkwan saeguks were light ones. However, the manhwa here is actually serious and tragic if you read it. I don't know if the drama will be any different. It seems like such content is only accepted on public tv in a comedic plot. So if this drama is a light saeguk, they might keep the manhwa content as it is. But if it's a serious saeguk (which I think it will be), they will make some modifications in the plot. I might be wrong ofc.

Yeah it is what it is lol In the manhwa, the ML goes through inner conflicts because he thinks he likes a man, moreover the king. Anyways, I'm pretty sure drama won't keep that cz public channels are sctrict.

It's very lowkey in the manhwa, not that obvious. The ML crossdressed as a court lady when he was young following the orders of the Dowager Queen (his grandmother) to save him from being executed due to his father's treason. He meets the King who's actually a princess in disguise and both of them feel attracted to one another in a way they couldn't explain. They didn't know they were both crossdressing. The ML disappeared from the palace & the King missed his only friend so much. Once the ML regained his social status, the powerful Dowager Queen brought him back to the palace but this time without the crossdress and appointed him as the royal guard of the king to keep an eye on the King. The King (the princess in disguise) didn't know the royal guard was the court lady from his childhood days.

HyunSeung seems to be written as a simple guy with a normal life & a loving family and with no real hardships. I believe the purpose of this is Balance. The FL's life is messed up so ML will give her the positive enery & the comfort she needs. As for Jaeshin, I can't like him no matter how drama is trying to make me sympathize with him. I agree about FL's mother.

They give him too much screentime. It's starting to bother me. He's got more plot than the ML. Honestly, I wish they focus more on the relationship of HS & SA instead.

Yes I agree. It has nothing to do with the main couple. It will just affect HS at work. I wonder if HS's temporary boss is involved in this set up with BM Seo. I remember HS asked his persmission first before giving the documents to BM Seo. When HS was doing the winner photoshoot/interview, BM Seo talked to the boss privately too. From the preview of Ep 11, I see Director Lee upset and HS was very uncomfortale.That's when I thought "Oh this is how Director Lee will know HS is Jiseung's younger brother."

Drama shouldn't have focused too much on the death SML's father, the FL's mother's unstable behavior & the creepy BM Seo. It was way too distracting. I mean only a few hours after HS & SA started dating, the death news ruined their sweet moment in the car. I wish they left the angst for next week and focused more on our couple in Ep 10.

I don't think it will affect the main couple but probably HyunSeung's professional life & the 3rd couple in this drama Jiseung & the director. This issue will probably lead to the director finding out that HyunSeung is his girlfriend's brother. If the director takes bad decisions or stands unfairly against HyunSeung, I'm afraid the director's relationship with HyunSeung's sister will be at stake.

Honestly, his love for her is so pure. He really doesn't ask for anything in return. He just likes to be with her & to make her happy. That's too selfless of him and I hope this dedication won't hurt him later on. I understand where she comes from though and I can't blame her for having this mindset. The men in her life were always trash but all I hope is she doesn't project her bad experience with them on her relationship with HyunSeung.

The way SongAh & HyunSeung feel more awkward now after they started dating than when they were colleagues. I don't know how to explain this. Is it because they are still at the beginning of their new chapter? I think it is understandable that they didn't jump right into the lovey doveyness because let me remind you he's loved her for a long time while she just realized she liked him too. It's always him trying to brush away the awkwardness by throwing jokes & being playful. However, she needs time to get used to HyunSeung as her boyfriend & not her junior/trainee. As you can see, he's aware of this fact and that's why he still calls her sunbae & he still hesitates when it comes to skinship. They are still in the very first days of their romantic relationship & this awkwardness is inevitable.

No worries. The drama will become so much lighter now. The ML will turn into the best boy ever by the end of Ep3. Haha

This drama will get so much better from Ep 3 onwards so hold on. The main leads have great chemistry.

HyunSeung & SongAh are such a beautiful couple. BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY SINGLE WAY. That's all I have to say after watching Ep9.

I doubt the manhwa BL content will be apparent in the drama since it will be aired on KBS, a public channel. They will definitely make changes to the plot.
