Chang Yi expected JYH to stay with him through all their troubles together. This is what his kind do when they…
I beg to disagree. Knowing the truth is his right and he's suffering because of the misundersting. Why would he feel guilty? She refused to clear the misundersting. It's not like he knows the truth and still locks her down. It's completely different. Well, that's my point of view ofc. I always appreciate telling the truth no matter how hard it is. He looks like the bad guy, and she's thr reason for this. It's unfair.

Fall in love with someone else? Why did she give up on him? If she actually truly loves him, how is she even thinking about this option? I'm not really fond of him being clingy too, he has suffered enough imo. I'm disappointed now that you said this.

As I read in the recaps, it appears that she refuses to tell him the truth and just lets him suffer because of the misunderstanding. I didn't quite understand why but I assume it is because she will die soon. Still, it is wrong and gives ChangYi the excuse to be harsh on her. I'm not saying it's right for him to lock her down like this but I can see where he comes from. She is simply not helping.
Part 2 is a lot better than Part 1 which I didn’t like much either. So if you got that far you have to go on.
Btw, I'm watching Part 2 without subs (relying on episodes recaps to understand), I can assure you that ChangYi has much better screentime and he's got a KEY role in the story. I watched 2 eps so far, and he appears every 2 or 3 minutes. I'm so satisfied with this.
Started this without subs, it's so hard to see ChangYi being harsh to YunHe. I understand the dilemma between his brain and heart. It must be hurting him as well. I hope YunHe gives him some time to accept her again instead of challenging him all the time. He has literally given her everything, that's why what she did, no matter the reasons, affected him deeply. Honestly, if I were him, I wouldn't have forgiven her. Not in a thousand years at least. Can't waot for when they get back together. The first few episodes were sad. The good thing is that Changyi has so many screentime in this part. It compensates for the drought in part 1.
At episode 15 now, this drama is definitely a visual blast. The colors, the visual effects, the outfits, the locations, the cast... And honestly, wow, Ren JiaLun looks exceptionally gorgeous here. Whoever did his eye-makeup and hair deserves the world. ChangYi is undeniably his best-looking character. I can't blame YunHe for praising his good looks all the time. LOL She speaks my mind. <3
Plot-wise, it is pretty common. Characters-wise, it is cool. The main couple is gorgeous in every single aspect. True that a relationship like that is too perfect to be true, but I definitely appreciate the healthy progress and the communication between them. Zhousheng Chen is actually exactly how I have always imagined my ideal type to be. It was really interesting seeing how he thinks, feels and behaves. I'm gonna sticks to my "old-fashioned" ideal type standards after watching this drama. As for ShiYi, she is supportive, understanding and courageous. Definitely someone to learn from. She handled their relationship pretty well. Though, I wish there were some quarrels and fights just so that the relationship looks more "realistic". I mean, it is ok to question why there was too many family secrets, girl. She should have asked for an explanation whenever needed, and not just go with the flow. She justified this by: "I trust you, no matter what you do". But honestly, asking for your husband's background information will not harm your trust in him. It is your right, and transparency is important in a relationship. I know he's not keeping secrets from her on purpose, it is just his personality. He doesn't open up easily. It is hard to change that. The best thing about him is that he's so well-behaved. Men like him are a gem. He asks for persmission all the time. It is just so nice to watch. He is too perfect, I know, but male leads like him are my weak point. I always appreciate genuinely nice male leads because nowadays dramas tend to promote the "bad guy" or "tough guy" or "shameless guy" images and I hate it. Stop doing this dramas. Girls deserve better.
He is mostly dubbed but it is his original voice though.
Oh I see. So it was not their real voice in One & Only. Wow this whole dubbing thing is totally new to me cz I'm a fresh c-drama viewer. Thanks for enlightning me.
Is it just me or Ren JiaLun's voice is different in this drama. It sounds raspy and soft. He also keeps sighing. Sometimes, he even souds as if he's suffocating.(?) I don't if he's doing this on purpose because his character is supposed to be awkward and introverted, or because there is really something wrong with him. Either way, his voice here suits the character very well. It's perfect to be honest. Still at ep 6 but I already like his character here so much, he's so pure.
Such a beautiful love story and definitely a compelling plot. Jin Xia and LuYi are so beautiful together. She is loud, talkative and fun. Lu Yi is calm, classy and serious. Totally different but blend so well together. Goid thing that their relationship developped slowly and didn't feel forced. All their actions, thoughts and emotions made sense. It was harsh to watch the last few episodes when they had to break up because of their families. The only thing that I hated was how JinXia sided with her late family and gave up so easily on their relationship even though what happened to her family had nothing to do with LuYi. It saddened me to see LuYi all alone at the end while JinXia was surrounded with all their mutual friends. He was left alone to deal with the loss of his loved ones and the repercussions of his father's actions. She was really harsh on him and so were his so called friends. Why no one was there for him when he needed comfort the most. Thanks God, JinXia went back to her senses. It was too late but still... She did her best to compensate him. Now the villain was despicable as hell. It was so satisfying to him executed. I hated the king too. He complains about being lonely when he actually gets rid of his loyal men so easily. I mean seriously? After everything that LuYi had done, you order to behead him just because you don't want to admit to your mistake? Serioysly? As for the cast, it is my first encounter with Tan SongYun and I totally loved her. Thanks drama for pairing her up with Allen Ren. They are truly a great match. An "eye-candy" couple indeed. Btw, nice action scenes.
I had a hard time breathing at moments, and I had thought I could handle this because I supposed I was mentally…
Nah, actually I did force myself to watch because I wanted to feel the victim's pain, so I can remember it in similar future situations. Btw, thanks for being thoughtful. :,)
Park JoongGil, that was one hella satisfying punishment. >.< That brat deserved it, and I hope every se*ual assault criminal gets to be escorted by ruthless JoongGil. God is just indeed.
Honestly, episode 10 is pretty disturbing. I hate injustice. People really need to shut the hell up when it comes to victims of se*ual crimes. For God's sake, the world does not need your freakin' opinion about every single thing. If you don't have nice words to say, just ZIP IT! I hope every victim finds justice and peace. We are on your side no matter what. Always. If only society could be more empathetic and ethical, the world would be a better place for every soul out there. On a side note, I see your character growth, Choi Joonwoong. My heart breaks for RyunGu.
Honestly though, you have a point. Netflix can be disrespectful not only to religions but also to cultures. I…
I strongly agree. Sexual content bothers me like hell. Call me retard, I don't care, but I actually don't mind at all not having a kiss scene. If the couple is able to deliver affection with honest words and smooth actions, it is enough for me. I think true love is there. Kdramas mastered this play for me. As for religions, the Korean society has a wide atheist population but religious people do exist as well (Christians and Buddhist mainly) but the way some Korean Netflix drama always attacks religions and promotes atheism by disrespecting believers and making them look like fools and retards is outrageous. What is so hard about proving your point without disrespecting others' beliefs?
