I watched the parent story Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi (Season 1 &2) and then watched Second to Last Love. (this is going to be LONG... sorry)
This version is good. The cast is great. All the couples and their stories are nice. The drama is very light... the romance is light as well. If you are looking for something in between dramas this is a good option.
If you are planning of watching both versions it comes down to this.
Second to Last Love is very dramaland, fluffy and predictable since the first episode. Light and entertaining. Great cast and good story. It fits the traditional KDrama. So if you are looking for a easy going drama this is a good choice.
Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi (S1 & 2) is not your typical drama. Story wise it feels more complete. I felt more connected with the characters. It does have funny situations but you can also feel the responsibility, expectations, demands, loneliness and the weight of been an adult.
This is all my opinion... I loved the Japanese drama more. Perhaps because I'm older I could relate more to the mood and situations from the Japanese version. After watching the JDrama the KDrama felt too rushed liked they just mixed up things and situations from the JDrama season 1 & 2 then added more stuff and unnecessary characters to the mix and there you have the drama. It didn't make lots of sense since they changed everything so the Kpublic could easily digest it.
There are tons of differences between both version on the characters stories and their individual development. The JDrama is more adult oriented since the main couple are around 40-50yrs old. Their visions of life and their experiences are way more realistic and honest than the one shown in the KDrama. The JDrama felt more real. It kept me wondering and made me reflect in my own life while I watched it. The KDrama for me was too childish and obvious.
If you are over +30 and are going to watch both dramas I recommend you watch the Korean version first and then the Japanese version. Or just skip the Korean version if you are really looking for something challenging and that makes you think about where you are right now. The JDrama really discusses the issues that people around that age have to face every day... been single, married, have kids, deal with family, situations work and keep relationships alive as well without loosing yourself.
well I could send them to you directly if you are interested. I don't want people going after me for spreading mature content and burst their " bubbly kdrama romance" bubble.
you have home work to do.... there are so many... soooo many... sexy/sex scenes in Korean cinema ... some with great stories some with no stories.... but good to watch... lol (sorry)
So proud of maknae Gongchan. I finally get to watch it today. Hope he gets more TV jobs... he is pretty laid back so this fit him well. So grown up uri Gongchan. Gongchan.... fighting! B1A4 fighting! Bana fighting! <3
Evidently I am in the strong minority in saying that this actually felt like a nice bit of closure for the show.…
I think it was a good conclusion for the drama. There is NO way Night and Riiko would end up together. Never. Even on the ending credits they tell you what will happen. I don't why people wanted to see them as a couple at the end. I admire Asamoto Soshi. Yes he was preoccupied but gave her the space and time to have a reality check... and say their proper goodbyes and acknowledge what we all new but they denied.
I would have liked them for them to show more of Soshi with Riiko at the end... their love story... cause right until the end he still gets treated like the boss instead of her fiance and he evens says it... not fair for him. lol!
The extra characters and military story was the only unnecessary part of the special.
My rating: 5/10 I went in with high hopes for a great treat. I mean we are talking Shin Ha Kyun, Jang Hyuk and…
With all this comments I just want to see it to see what all the drama about the sex is... Never forget The Forzen Flower or The Treacherous or well many others... . Lol!
it is not called Empire of Lust for nothing... lol!
With all this comments I know want to watch it.
Yeah you can all call me pervert.
I don't mind the erotic scenes.
Korean and Japanese dramas are very different from each other. Their concepts, way of telling the story very different. Each country presents everything with a different light. You can even tell after watching a drama with remakes in Korean and Japan like Liar Game, Boys Over Flowers.... But I guess it is all part of the culture and history.
I wouldn't even compare them at all.
People just have to overlook the small details and focus on the real issue... THE STORY!
My favorites are Yamapi (Summer Nude) and Matsuda Shota (Quijote). I always try to stay updated on their dramas or movies. lol! Love them.
