Binged in 2 days. After the first epi I couldn't stop... well I had to sleep lol and then I woke up and immediately…
"I read the comments below and it confuses me as to how people gave this a low score. So use to fluffy dramas with the same story-lines that when something new and thrilling comes their way they can't handle it. I assume people like that are either young in age and don't know better, are really immature, or just dense."
PERFECT! I don't know what else to say about this drama. It is just perfect. It gave me feels that I haven't felt in a LONG time. I related to many of the characters in a very special way. I laughed and cried as well.
Please give this drama a chance. If you really pay attention to the story been told you might even think it is a life changing experience. I question a lot of things about myself while watching. It is like looking inside ourselves and reflect.
Edited to add this: "If you take time to think about it each and every interpersonal relationship is quite fascinating, and precious. You must repay them. Live a happy life. That's how you repay the people in your life".
Sometimes I don't even know if I should read comments cause people are leaving so many spoilers when there is a way to cover them... please be kind to other users. Thanks!
He is an excellent actor. I have to tell myself that he could be my baby brother cause he is distracting.... sorry... but that voice, face and smile is powerful. He is simple... never complicated. First saw him in Sad Movie and the rest is history... instant fan.
About Orange Marmalade.. I read that webtoon... and I was so excited when they announced the drama & that Yeo JIngoo would be the lead but ... the WHOLE thing was wrong. If they kept the webtoon story it would have been better. I was really disappointed by that to the point that not even him or the second lead could save the drama. I didn't pass over the 1st episode.
Still I love Yeo Jingoo and look forward to his future career.
Happy that I didn't payed attention to the comments or reviews on lots of places. I almost didn't watched. Lately lots of commentators and reviewers became "experts" and I really don't know why they find faults in every single drama.
Enjoyed more than expected. It could have been like 20eps just to develop some blooming characters. Couples weren't overly done. Each couple had their charm. Nothing obsessive or over the top. Just a simple drama about youth trying to get their life together and survive. Loved that the "rich" kids became richer at the end on their own account and enjoyed the good life . (you will understand when you see it) Mostly a cheerful David vs Goliath drama.
Perhaps if you are young you might find if boring or with no climax but this is as real as it gets. If you want to learn a little more about life... do watch it. You will end loving it. Life lessons.
About time they did something for with the elders and for the elders. I think everyone will learn a few things from watching this drama. Great for coping with family differences and looking at those differences from another perspective.
Brilliant drama and story overall. The actors where PERFECT and there was a character for every personality out there. Well done writer and director.
I saw myself on a lot of their situations... so many times while watching. I cried and laughed. I have lived with all my elders and yes... we just have to take the good, the bad and the ugly... but in the end it is all worth it.
Nam Goong Min... oppa... yup finally someone older than me. LOL! I first saw him in One Fine Day cause I was stalking all Gong Yoo dramas. If you want to see his (and Gong Yoo) "ugly"crying in excess... do watch that drama... it is pretty old circa 2006. After that I just kept watching all his later dramas. I might have miss very little of them... mostly the very very old ones.
I'm currently watching Falsify and while I enjoyed all the closeup... I noticed that he really aged well. He looks even younger than what he did in One Fine Day actually. He improved a lot and I am glad that he can be a lead actor but when he is a guest on a drama he also leaves a mark and you will remember him even if he is in one episode. lol! I'll keep "stalking" all his projects cause he is a very good actor that can do cute, comedy, romance, melodrama and be the totally crazy villain. Goongmin oppa fighting!
Wondering if this was based on the Japanese drama Umi no Ue no Shinryoujo / Clinic on the sea (2013) If you haven't seen it... you should either way. It is really good and Matsuda Shota is on it. So yeah pretty funny, has some romance and it has serious topics as well.
My lovely Yoo Ah In... so underrated and misunderstood. I enjoy his attitude and how he gives in to his character. I've confidence in watching his dramas or movies cause I know they will be good. He is really picky on his characters. For me Six Flying Dragons (even with the 50 eps) was WAY better than Descendants of the Sun and I love Song Joong Ki and all but SFD really hit me where it matter in the sense of the story... DOTS was more a comedy relief with some fights here and there.
I recommend the following movies and dramas:
Antique (This whole cast should reunite and do something ASAP... please), The Man Who Can't Get Married, Veteran, The Throne, Likes for Likes, Fashion King (I know people hate it but I liked it), Secret Love Affair and Punch.
I have seen a lot of JDramas and KDramas. For me it depends on the mood and what you are into. I could care less for the way the actors look. If the story is good I am in. Lately I feel the huge difference between JDramas and KDramas is that JDramas as more real, meaningful, have a message and I can totally identify with the story. Kdramas.... are more like fun... unrealistic stories that are mostly for entertainment.
For exmaplo I recently I saw two versions of a drama Second to last love (Kdrama) and Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi (JDrama) and you can see the huge difference on their stories and characters. I loved the Japanese version and i only enjoyed the Korean version but it is nothing like the original one.
I have learned that Japan and Korea do no make the same type of drama. They don't do romance like Korea and that is all part of the difference in cultures and how they portray stories to their viewers. Korea is more conservative. Japan is way too open and real. So that is the main issue I find when people try to compare... you just shouldn't. You should just watch what you feel is interesting to you and avoid reading commentaries or even reviews. You might miss out on an excellent story.
Also perhaps I say this cause I'm older but a lot of young people expect the fairy tail and when they don't get their lovey dovey pink cute love story they get mad. Sometimes the themes are too real, harsh or complicated for some audiences... so yeah... I normally just avoid the comments. Sometimes after reading some bad comments I end up watching it to see why all the fuzz and end up liking them. Lol... so it is no that bad after all I guess.
I can't believe so many people are dropping this drama. I really like it very different plot...
I haven't seen the drama but I think that most of they are young viewers that get easily bored by good stories. Now after watching all the "bad" reviews I want to watch it cause I think I will enjoy it... (seems to be the norm lately... I end up loving what others dislike... and dislike what others enjoy)
