"I think if life was peaceful she wouldnt hurt QY." - Life, for any human in this world, has never been always peaceful. Neither was it peaceful back then, nor it is now. Sorry, but unfortunately, such idealistic world full of peace doesn't exist in reality. That said, if a person can't function in this world without hurting someone else out of spite and jealousy, and expect life to be all peaceful, in order to NOT hurt people, then that person is trash.
Also, life was never peaceful for QY too.Truth to be told, QM's life was way more peaceful compared to QY's. Even then, QY never hurt any of her family members unreasonably, for her own selfishness, unlike QM. This shows that QM clearly made a choice to hurt QY.

Exactly! Those scenes from the starting episodes, where QM literally forced and guilt-tripped her sister to go get buried alive and to become a nun are still very fresh in my mind. Also, her motivations behind forcing QY ,were pure jealousy, spite and self-preservation, and not just "following the traditions".
If you could remember, there is a scene where she questions her Mom for being too "lenient" on QY, for helping her run away from the house. She says that QY running away from becoming a nun would taint her "reputation" and that she was afraid HER future prospects of marriage would be affected. She also whined that her Mom loved only QY and that she was biased against her, which is obviously far from the truth. That's when she revealed her true intentions behind her forcing QY to follow the "traditions".

Don’t agree…QM was too righteous from the beginning…she never supported her sister (remember she admonished…
Exactly! And I think you meant to imply that QM was "self-righteous", rather than "righteous". Righteous people are the ones who actually uphold justice and make sure that the innocent ones are not wronged, like the FL here.
Unlike the self-righteous ones, who cling to some stupid saintly pseudo-values, of which most of them are wrong anyways, and judge and berate anyone who doesn't follow them. Like QM here, who preaches irrational and unjust pseudo-values for women, which were followed during the ancient times, but are obviously wrong. Self-righteous people like QM, actually hurt innocent people rather than helping them.

I've just completed ep 19, and I have a lot to say.
Firstly, what happened to Qiu Min was pretty disturbing. But, tbh, the only reason why I feel sympathetic towards her, is because she was molested when she was physically very ill. She was literally having a hard time even getting up from her bed, but was forced to go, due to that b*tch of FL's bio Mom. It was too cruel for her, to be put in that situation, because she was physically unable to defend herself.
That said, had she been in her physically best self, I don't think I would have enough sympathy for her. In that case, I would simply say that she faced the consequences of her behaviour. Mainly because, she refused FL's offer to go live with her, whereas, everyone else was humble enough to accept the offer. She also made pretty indecent remarks about the FL's job, saying how "impure" and "dirty" she was, while considering herself to be morally above the FL.
IMO, it's not even her traditional overview of life, or her reserved and fearful nature which caused the problem here. Many women are afraid of many things. Hell, even I'm afraid of ultra-loud thunderstorms, and wish to hug someone to feel safe. But no, that's not the actual problem here. It's her selfishness, arrogance, jealousy and sense of entitlement, coupled with her coward nature, which caused her this problem.
She had always been egoistic from the start, and unnecessarily took her sister as a competition for everything. She felt entitled over her sister's stuff and always wanted what the FL had. She knew that she was in the wrong, but always decided to turn a blind eye to the truth, due to her huge ego.
She considers herself to be above her sister, hence she dismissed FL's offer to go live with her. She looks down upon the FL, and thinks that she knows better. Even after the incident took place, once she decided to not die, she kept repeating the words, "I have to be stronger than my sister". This shows that she considers the FL as her enemy, and cares only for herself, thereby hiding behind all her excuses for not being fair towards the FL.

So, I'm in the starting episodes, and I must say that I absolutely hate the FL's younger sister, Qiu Min. God! She gets on my nerves! She is very selfish, jealous, narcissistic and is an expert at playing the victim card. I can't believe that the FL dotes on her so much, yet that b*tch chooses to blame her for everything and doesn't even think twice before harming her.
She is so conniving, that she went and informed her aunts about the meeting place of the FL and Qin Xuan, and almost got her sold to the merchants, just out of pure jealousy and selfishness. As if that was not enough, she played the victim card and acted all arrogant when called out by her sister. She shamelessly put on the "poor loving sister" role in front of Liang Yi and begged him to save the FL, just so that she could stop feeling guilty for the harm she caused her.
I just can't stand her anymore, and I want to skip her scenes whenever she appears with her "poor me" narrative!
