I’m just a little confused about the part where they made the foreigners obviously Europeans sing or make noises…
It might be intentional because the foreigners increased the difficulty level for the casts to guess, since they aren't familiar with the songs and have to hum according to what they heard for the first time.. even so the casts could still guess it right😂
Omg tonight this show will come to an end.. LYN and LYT. I will miss the show to the core..But the chemistry of…
You mean Song Zuer? She and LYN have been friends since a year before TPOB filming, so mybe it's easier for them to build chemistry. While LYN and LYT worked the first time in this drama, i think their chemistry is good enough, and in line with the hard built relationship between their characters where it took a long time for her to soften and accept his love.
They actually released another MVOST at the end. I’m not really sure what it’s about or who sings it. I didn’t…
It's the Love Theme Song by Penny Tai. Fyi, this is her first OST for historical drama and first OST not composed/ written by herself. Probably LYN recommended her for this drama bcs they're good friends in music circle.
Did anyone notice when NH said 白首同心 (grow old together with a shared heart), SYM was holding her expression not to laugh?😂 Girl mostly can't process well when her man is being romantic... even funnier that she translated it as "white head same heart" and NH doubting her 🤣 i love their romantic-gentle BF and bubbly-hyper GF dynamic, which is different from LYN previous dramas
i love that Nan Heng & Song Yimeng is not a typical couple who just get married and being lovey dovey all the…
Them not being lovey dovey all the time does make sense, bcs one is busy with works as a Crown Prince and one has so much new things to learn as a Crown Princess. Plus all the script things that occupied their mind they even talked about it in bed😭😂
just curious what your favorite scene(s) is/are so far? mine is definitely that drum scene, idk how many times…
Love that drum scene too, it was a moment where NH gave a reminder to all about the hard work and sacrifices of the armies in defending their country, and a moment for SYM to see wars in that world from NH's pov, how the drum sound alone could lift up the armies spirit when they're in dire situation.
My other fave scenes are the recent one, NH defeated the script mechanism with other mechanism to save SYM. Then the cliff scene when SYM ran away quickly bcs she didn't want to be a damsel in distress who hold back the ML, but she went back to help by throwing rocks😂 also when NH revealed his identity to Nightwalkers and his burning book fight scene with CGH!
Today's episodes are sweet (the romance is finally burningggg😭), calm but also eerie bcs of the scriptwriter's presence and his visible indifference toward all the characters, all he wants is to go back to modern world and hold his keyboard again.. but now it's too late bcs SYM and NH have changed the plot direction (but not entirely the ending) and activated other script mechanism; and CGH the supposedly good guy, the character he wrote proudly is now beyond saving.
2 eps for today (33-34) and tomorrow (35-36). 1 ep each day from July 12~15 (37-40). But if you buy express package which will be available tomorrow, you can already watch the rest episodes until final.
Wondering why the drama is called "Dream within a dream" could it be a random girl is dreaming of her becoming…
The native title is Shujuan Yimeng, and "Yimeng" can refer to FL name, or the literal meaning which is A Dream. While Shujuan means The Book.
So Shujuan Yimeng can be translated as Yimeng Within The Book, or A Dream Within The Book. Not sure why the official English title became A Dream Within A Dream instead...
I am curious. I know Liu Yuning, Li Yitong, Riley Wang, Wang Youshuo, and Wang Lina are dubbing themselves. How…
During the first cast livestream, Li Yitong, Liu Yuning, Zhu Xudan, Riley Wang, Wang Youshou and Chang Long all talked about the challenge of dubbing themselves for this drama, LYN also shared some dubbing knowledge bcs if I'm not mistaken Riley asked about it. Definitely Fugui, the Emperor, Song Yude dubbed themselves too, saw them in several dramas i can recognize their voice already.
Her and this damn script are getting on my nerves. Why does she trust the worst part of the script will happen…
The iconic scene (which is the worst part) indeed still happen on ep 32, NH loves her now and doesn't want to kill her, but like puppet, his action is still controlled to stab her. If she didn't insist about the script for so long, NH wouldn't notice her fear and make a back up plan to save her.
Far from sparking a heated debate, I must respectfully differ. While LYN shines brilliantly here, in my opinion…
LYN got many hates during AJTL broadcast but the drama itself and his acting also got good achievements!
Yeah the politic just like passing by, just to push the plot forward but wasn't the main focus obviously. I also love TPOB, it can be a comfort drama for me, but when i started watching ADWAD I was like "ohh what is this vibe? what's gonna happen? Why? How?," it keeps giving me the tension and curiosity that i didn't find in TPOB.

Agree with you... when it comes to the complexity of the plot, characters and political strategies within the story, AJTL and ADWAD won. Both dramas have more intriguing factors, and more memorable characters from lead couple down to support characters. AJTL is that rare historical drama where 6~7 characters got into top 10 vlinkage ranking during broadcast, even though they were competing with other big dramas too back then.. meaning that many characters including the leads in the drama were well-written, have depth, development, and worth discussed.
But when it comes to a satisfying romance story, with full intimacy and understanding between lead couple, people will definitely prefer TPOB.
AJTL is a wuxia-political-romance drama, TPOB is full romance (most of the important political scenes in the novel didn't make it into the drama), while ADWAD is fantasy romantic comedy backed with compelling political story .. So comparing those 3 dramas with story logic and so on don't seem right to me😅
I think what bothers me about the FL are two things, which probably affected other viewers' liking of her too.…
The problem is.. the direction of the plot can't be changed, NH was still controlled to stab her even when he didn't want to. The only way to change the plot direction is by NH willingly sacrificed himself to activate the script mechanism, or SYM herself plotting to kill him by intentionally put herself in danger. Now if SYM did the latter after knowing NH is LSL and he's actually not a villain, she'll be even more a ruthless character and i believe the audiences aren't ready for it, because some already calling her ruthless and heartless for rejecting NH many times and speaking harsh to make him stop pursuing her. She took initiative to leave the capital city to avoid him, but there is alwys something preventing her to leave. If i were her, i would also get hopeless.
The scriptwriter who insists all the iconic scenes to happen so he can go back to modern world
VS
SYM who doesn't want to leave the script world and NH who won't let her go back to her world
VS
CGH who denies to fix himself and refuses the good SML setting, bcs he wants to be the protagonist who conquer the world
now if many other characters finding out about this script things too, it's gonna be a big showdown tomorrow🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
