I totally respect your feelings, but I have one last argument that might bring some good reflections. You haven't seen the series I mention, although they are very popular. But there are other series that you may have watched or intend to watch. Did you watch SOTKP? If you watched it, what did you think of Xie Wei? Everyone cheered for Xie Wei who forced himself into FL and was violent while calling Zhang Zhe's green flag boring and unpleasant. Did you watch LGIEF? Did you manage to deal with ML? Everyone found it "amusing" that ML was killing FL for a long time in the first episode. It doesn't matter if it was a game, violence was on the scene. Did you watch The Double? Did you manage to face the horrifying scenes of SYR? And what about When the Telephone Rings, with that oppressive, cold, cruel, sadistic husband? And what about dramas with adult FLs written as minors or students always written as less intelligent than the MLs? Have you ever watched these dramas? If you watched it, how did you feel watching girls suffer bullying from boys? And Flourished Peony? If you haven't watched it, don't watch it, because you will have to deal with extreme violence, with women being beaten, bleeding, with bruises on their faces and bodies. I watched all these dramas and I reaffirm here that there is not a single ML in PM with such traits. So give PM a chance or at least don't believe what they are saying. Thank you for this dialogue!

All words and attitudes that inspire fraternity are welcome! Unity, solidarity, empathy, determination and resilience are indelible seals in women's struggle for autonomy and the full exercise of their own divinity. We carry in our existential memory millennia of torture, violence and all types of abuse. Unfortunately, women are so indoctrinated by these millennia of yoke that a significant part perpetuates this yoke. We are the ones who carry life in our womb, we nourish and educate, we are the pillar of society. We ourselves are the key that breaks the shackles and gags, this path can only be paved with the courage and determination to change the macabre course of our history of pain and oppression. The resumption and reframing of our role gives us back our own spark of life. Thank you very much, sister, for this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to shining a light on this fight: may we not lack strength, be it leaven and antidote for everyone who tries to silence us. Sweetness connects us to the best of life and people: may it not stand in the way, but be the counterpoint to all forces. Amen, sister!

i feel sad that i am not liking this. i've been reading comments about this and how much of a jerk the guys here…
Give your own judgment about the series a chance, don't let biased comments decide for you. PM and you deserve this chance. These comments aren't fair to the MLs characters. How many films and series feature oppressive MLs, like Xiang Liu (LYF), who despite breaking Xiao Yao's two legs, was idolized by female audience, or like Murong Jing He's (KMLM) sadomasochism in the first 14 episodes, a character that the female audience simply adored, no one kept saying that these characters were jerks. The PM is running a fierce campaign in this regard, but MLs are ok. Problems that don't exist are being invented, without any scruples. This speech is a mere smokescreen to hide the true motivation: attacking Yu Zheng, the series producer. In real life, we don't stop going to parties, or any other entertainment or life commitment because there are jerks in those places, we simply avoid them. Just let your heart decide. If in your judgment you consider these characters to be jerk, then avoid the series.

Exactly, but I believe that perhaps the writer took the liberty of inserting fictional information that does not compromise the History.

Yes, there are several facets to this inhumane practice. The practice, under the convenient cloak of aesthetics, aimed, in fact, to make it impossible for women to leave the house, consequently causing all types of dependence, even when moving around the house. In terms of the physical issue of the body, the first of these could be nothing other than the brutal pain it entailed. The complexity of the horrors that the woman experienced was manifested in all areas of her existence, from physical issues, compromising the entire mechanics of the body (the spine was the first major impact) to emotional issues and self-esteem. The woman subjected to this brutality was expropriated of the meaning of her existential cosmos. Once demolished from the roots, women could not assume any role. I read several studies that range from the physical implications (all organs were affected, especially the kidneys, as well as lung and heart diseases, thrombosis, musculoskeletal inflammatory diseases, obesity, diabetes... It's a long list...), to implications relating to mental health. It is inconceivable that even today women still fight for basic enshrined rights, in addition to still being subjected to unpublishable barbarities around the world. Thank you very much for this very qualified exchange of perceptions.

Congratulations! Good student and good memory! I copy and paste here the historical fact you mention and the source below.
"Zhao Kuangyin, later known as Emperor Taizu (r. 960–976), usurped the throne and deposed the last Zhou ruler Guo Zongxun with the support of military commanders in 960, initiating the Song dynasty. Upon taking the throne, his first goal was the reunification of China after half a century of political division"

The history of woman is surreal, this issue of feet has crossed centuries, there are terrifying photos. I can only imagine the extent of the physical pain and all the mobility problems resulting from this horrifying practice.

Hi, Dedra70, nice to see you here! The scene is indeed shocking, and that is the intention. The reflection she makes is not just about recovering and correcting something that happened, like the wedding night when he ignored her, but also that her life is worth more than a mere fan. The river is a metaphor representing the flow of time. She did not expect him to retrieve the fan, as it is not possible to go back in time, and it was also not clear whether the fan was the same or whether the current actually took it away. It was not a mere whim. It is necessary to evaluate this legitimate behavior in the context of a period 1,064 years ago, during the Song Dynasty (when women still had autonomy, its splendor was in the Tang Dynasty), abandoning one's wife in the marriage bed was a serious moral misconduct. Confucianism, which excels in severe morality, was in its splendor, it was revitalized precisely in the Song Dynasty (and to this day it is the moral pillar of China), it is not a mere grudge, but an attack on morality.

The scenes in the trailer are intriguing and shocking. SH has already sacrificed so much, she doesn't even laugh, like her sisters, she is trapped in rigid self-regulation. I really liked her arc. Her relationship/communication with DYX is built of mental challenges, of enigmas to be solved, of literary works that support her arguments, there is a charming erudition that serves as a basis for their understanding, the only problem is that SH is very cerebral and unemotional. After seeing the progression of this relationship presented with such delicacy, lyricism and subtlety, a stunning trailer appears. As you say, SH has already suffered a lot. DYX tainted the wedding night, an unforgivable attitude that was being overcome. Everything we say here is just speculation. Let's see how this resolves itself. Fingers crossed hoping that today's torture turns into relief in 10:30 hours...

I also prefer it, of course, this would avoid corrupting the love and delicate story between SH and DYX. But, imop, it would be a pertinent criticism if the story repeats, successively, these schemes. "Only" 13 hours left until we end today's torment...lol

ROTFL I'm asthmatic... lol I had an asthma crisis from laughing so much, it seems we have a great miscellany! lol I agree with everything and add to your list “Seven brides for seven brothers” 😂 (USA-1954) and the kidnapping of the Sabine women, from Roman mythology lol I have another crazy thesis: will the series sacrifice such a delicate love story between SH and DYX, just to prove Chai An's thesis? CA stated that DYX was an ambitious man and that if Kang Ning married him, DYX would leave her and soon after marry a noble woman, as appears to be the situation in the trailer. In this case, the series would not be a comedy, but rather a tragedy...

Personally I think its a scheme of his. Since their wedding started off rough I think maybe he wants to do it…
Exactly! In general, trailer scenes are not placed in the chronological order of events, it's a strategy to confuse... This trailer ruined everyone's Saturday!😅
