●ML, upon seeing A Yi dead, she realizes that her life was ruined in a brutal mistake. ●I believe that A Yi's sacrifice as a solution to save ML's life was unnecessary, since that shaman is fake. ●Cdramas have an infinite list of herbs that kill, resurrect, etc., and use this device to reverse situations. ●My thesis is: ML knows that to get out of that place of fanatics, martial arts won't be enough. ●For ML to get out of there and have no one following her, just dead. ●She'll probably use that herb that temporarily "killed" the Beauties, whose effect interrupts breathing to a very low, imperceptible level. ●Then she hangs herself.

Hi Lesle! Thank you very much for the comment and recommendation, I haven't watched it yet, despite having seen other films by this brilliant director, Chen Kaige (1952). He and Zhang Yimou (1951) are two great names from that period. Jia Zhang Ke, who I quote in the article, is from a later generation (1970). I'll watch your recommendation, for sure!
