I started reading the novel and I am halfway through, so I am already beyond aired episodes. I am more than satisfied with the episodes aired and understand and appreciate the changes of how to adapt it to a live version without the rebirth plot while still keeping the essence of the novel.
God I'm so spoiled by Fated hearts and Love in the clouds. This is so boring. The future couple is not strong…
I come from both and I am still not over fated hearts and I am loving this so much that i started the novel 2 days ago . For different tastes different colors🤷🏼♂️
1- They certainly have managed to portray the characters feelings the FL, Gu, 1st bro & ML. I understand completely…
-Also the scene where she proposes to 1st bro is similar to the novel in its flashy way, he never gets a chance to lift her veil so she runs after them, because they set to war the same day they were supposed to get married, and tells him he promised to come and lift it her veil and she also tells him not to chase after enemies in the battlefield. -Just as in the drama in the novel she actually sets more of a banter with 7th brother and he is the one exchanging more detailed letters with FL. -The most poignant scene to me from the drama is when FL declares to 1st bro that since she is skilled in martial arts she can follow him to war, because in the novel these words were said to 7th bro by 1stbto and it is so bittwrsweet and This is truly a nod to the novel because before rebirth the only time FL met 7th brother, was in a situation were Gu has exiled her to the country they meet in the road and this is what 7th bro said:: “Does Lady Gu know that before the Wei family came to propose, my family members came to inquire which of the two Chu daughters my elder brother admired? My brother said he liked the eldest miss because she practiced martial arts. In the future, when I come of age, if he can’t defeat her, he can take his wife to the battlefield.” -Also both in the novel and the drama 1st bro was not able to keep none of his promises to FL, because he died in battle. -Also how much FL and her maid care for each other is also a nod to the novel since because of her spoiled sister and Gu, her maid was beaten to death and this was the turning point in her 1st life. You can see in the drama that both the maid and FL despise Gu and can see clearly through his masks and pretenses. In conclusion, just like fated hearts both the novel and drama have their appeal, and so far this drama has created its own storyline respecting the feelings of the novel.
I love reading and since I was surprised I had not read this one; here are my thoughts regarding the novel reborn…
1- They certainly have managed to portray the characters feelings the FL, Gu, 1st bro & ML. I understand completely why these actors were chosen and as a writer myself. The first episode really does satisfy even the reborn plot. That is why so many of you got hooked and will watch until the end. In just that one episode they managed to express so much. Bravo to the screenwriting and actors. 2- In the scene were FL is in the pavilion they did a tribute nod to the novel several times: - When female lead asks Gu "Are you here to ruin my marriage?" Many of us missed that including myself because Gu was the one getting married. This nods at the reborn plot in the novel. Gu and FL in the novel both know they have been reborn, so Gu in the novel realized after FL's passing that he deeply loved her, but he resented that everyone thought she was too good for him and also because everyone praised 1st bro whom was actually the person she was supposed to marry so Gu had an inferiority complex. When he saw that FL did not follow him but had married 1st bro he felt anvry but knew he had a short life and he said "I would tear down anyone and bring back my woman to me" so he is in fact the same thirsty for power but thinks FL belongs to him both in the novel and drama. He also thinks he knows her well, another nod is when FL asks Gu "i think you know me or know me not at all"
Pretty sure even Duke of Ning knew she was bluffing but he couldn’t take any chances his family could lose face.
That is why i say she is a Queen back then and even today people live shackeed by what others might say, even though he does not have any issue in assasinating 70, 000 soldiers he is ashamed of what she did , what a 🤡
I wonder what end will Gu Chu Sheng meet. I greatly dislike this halfhearted cry babies that go through life being the greatest villans justifying it with their falsified righteousness and self victimization, classic soo won from akatsuki no yona.
