Hua Jing was a brat. The fact she was also a victim doesn't change her bad nature. She has no respect or love for…
Very well said. It baffled me that some audience would see this as the grandmother and HZ's fault for HJ's situation and hated them. Some people are truly unbelievable to justify her heinous actions.

He said it at time he did it. I didn't see any explanation for it in ep 29. Oh, are you referring to what happened…
I'm watching BCE as well but I'm enjoying this one more but I'm not liking the airing schedule. 3 days without any episodes is too long. I want to watch shooting stars but waiting for more episodes to air first.

I must have missed it in the beginning lol. It only dong on me when the emperor cut the 6th prince. Like you, I missed some stuff when I watch late at night or when I was doing something else at the same time lol

I think it would be better if it was a webdrama. TV dramas tend to be especially strict with restrictions and…

I guess they are real people who can justified Hua Jing's entitled and selfish attitude because they think like her. Oh well...

Only after watching episode 29, that I know the significance of GYX scarring himself on the 1st episode. I didn't know that you can't be in line for the throne if you're scarred on the face.

Title Best Choice Ever Spoiler
She comes to her parents house often and leaves her first child with the nanny at home.
what? I don't think I've seen her 1st child and husband. Thanks for the info. Thought she was living at home since she was in all the scenes at the house.

read this https://kisskh.at/discussions/cheng-huan-ji/124751-ml-and-fl-relation-with-grandma
ah so MCH is her step-granddaughter and YZM is her biological grandson, hence they are considered step-cousins?

Well, this might be true, but when her daughter repeatedly tells her they’re broken up and without even finding…
I'm not there yet. I'm not saying that the mother's behaviour/actions are not problematic. IT IS but I don't think it warrants people downvoted the drama and criticizing it. There are mothers like that and I find it interesting to watch how the FL deals with it. Yes she's very tolerant of her mother but then she has been dealing with this her whole life. I'm hoping this will play out to a satisfying conclusion in the end.

Im really enjoying the mom. I see the toxicity of her behaviors. But she’s so well written, acted and the character…
Yes they have quite an interesting mother/daughter relationship, although toxic but you can feel they love each other. I like your last sentence and I'm interesting in the outcome and see how the FL will resolve the issue with her mom in the end.

I wouldn’t waste your breath trying to make people try to understand the mom. I’m not Chinese and I understand…
Yes I get that, hence I guess that's why the rating is so low here and the rating is overhyped in China because Chinese people get it and they can relate. I'm on episode 8 and I didn't find her so annoying yet. I've seen way worse in cdramaland, a recent one I've watched that have parents that make my blood boiled was A Simple Life .

Yes I was reading some of the comments and I thought the mom would be this evil person who treats her daughter like shit but she actually really loves her and proud of her. Just overbearing and typical old generation mom which i can sorta understand. That's the Chinese bloomer generation. Always for the children's own good based on what they considered is the best.

I'm on episode 7 and I don't get why everyone is complaining about the mom. She's just a typical old- fashioned Chinese mom from what I can see. She wants what she thinks is the best for her daughter and that is have a rich husband who has a house, a car and steady job to take care of her. I have seen enough of it so it didn't bother me so much. I've seen worse.

GYX, Chen Qing and Hou all noticed it in Ep 24, so she either first noticed the rocks then or realised mid fight
Thanks! ah I remember now. It's when they first met the bandits on the road.
