Most of the character have background stories more or less interesting, depends on the viewer, each realm/clan also have stories, the main story is easy to follow, It's Yin from zero to queen phoenix. GuJin the classic hero from stupid to responsible. The cast was not able to deliver, and I agree the directing was also a problem. I maintain my rating, the story is good, it's a classic, easily a 9. They should've hired A journey to love's director, this would've been a 10.

They gave a little background of each realm / each clan and their character stories so at least you don't have to figure it out like in ALP, even the ones that they add like, ghostland, the war where peacock clan and the eagle clan. Each new place has something going on interesting or not, even the one that doesn't affect the main story. It's cool world with diverse stories
Here are few remark i've noticed, correct me if i'm wrong since I FF a lot: Not a single sneak peak of that beautiful god realm in ALP 😥 . No epic battle (only a few divine weapon used in combat, only magic, combat doesn't last long) No epic entrance or godly power showcase (FY becoming a demigod but we don't see difference in her power compared to others in combat) No chemistry (less touching, kissing and hugging compared to ALP) No explanation about the title "The Last Immortal" since all the immortals are still there 😂. Not many jokes or comedy.

They could've just copy/paste ALP ending, when you miss someone for a thousand years, you don't just stare like that 😂, many scenes like this is the reason why many people say the drama lack chemistry.
