Man this is def the worst characterization of the FL of all the versions I've seen. It is very difficult to find her charming. The camera loves to focus in on her dim-wit moments with mulish expressions, all of which give the impression that she has the mental age of a toddler or is having som sort of aneurysm. Its tough to watch.

I really love this series but the crying is so fake and disgusting. Every single character has shitty crying jags that make me want to throw a shoe at them

Such a fun ride. And the king was a sorcerer all along, huh? He wrote the spelled book, so he can no doubt spell himself through time as well. I love this plot device throughline.

Oh I wish I had come here before watching today's episode. What a bummer
Even good ol' girl taster lady was done down. She was just there for the food.

The wigs on consort and grandma were hideously heavy looking. Drama is actually MasterChef Joeson and the tyranny…
the Ming envoy's lacefront is crazy.

oh it is so interesting..I really thought that they will end tye competition thing in 1 episode buttt noo they…
I am loving the reactions and the mispronunciations of food names. These would otherwise be very tense and dry political moments, but instead everyone gets disarmed and confused. I am going to have to start having treats in hand while watching myself!

I've noticed this happening a few times in J-dramas.
It is hard to get the balance right when playing an ingenue role. I think this actress habitually overplays even mild surprise, so I can't decide if that is an endearing flaw or she is a buffoon.

I enjoyed this premise and it is very bingeable. I used ff >> a lot for eps 12 -15 though. Neither the mains nor seconds were interesting enough to carry plot scenes solo and I admit to skipping a lot of flashback scenes in favor of dialog driven, present day ones. Early on the FL I found very slow witted and weirdly gloomy (self pitying maybe?) in her younger form. I didn't care for it. Her older form was practically a Mary Sue, but her attitude was somehow endearing. The ML needed his sidekick badly to make me pay him any mind whatsoever. He gave zero endearing personality. The ensemble work carried this drama over the finish line, which probably could've been done in 12 eps.

Title The Trunk Spoiler
she literally got off on tormenting him. she knew he had nightmares about his childhood, so she wanted the chandelier…
I got the feeling 2FL always noticed the chemistry of FL and ML even from graduation day and again when he ran out of the store to chase her on trunk -buying day. She was insecure about In-ji from jump and held and insane grudge or 3-5 years about it!

I had really lost hope in dramas producing anything this atmospheric and twisted yet of good quality, so this drama has revived me. Every actor does their part in harmony, everyone goes bat sh*t steadily and it is so enjoyable to watch

sometimes when I feel bored I come tho this page and read all the reviews that are praising this drama. it's such…
I am def going to watch the continuing derangement on the Thai version page . People getting all in their feelings and howling about this garbage show stays being hilarious.

It is rather surprising but I am commenting after a rewatch. First, the acting in this series is excellent. The FL is weak type and every wretched aspect of her waivering character was rendered so believably by the actress that you get truly disappointed and frustrated whenever she goes crawling back to Hoshina. Similarly vivid are Muro and Kiritani combi. They are so captivating as Yoshizaki and Suzuki. The open, honest byplay between them, followed by the way they treat their coworkers --not to mention Kyouko really highlights the depravity of Hoshina and his cohorts. Finally, Hoshina is truly an arch villain here. No mistake. He uses and discards people at his pleasure, and it is clear his only pleasure is in hurting people. It is never clear that he has any dreams or motivations beyond crushing others according to his twisted whims.
