But honestly looking at it from Wasan’s view, he made it CLEAR to Kan that if he’s the one doing the mercy killings,he’ll arrest him.
In the novel Wasan told Kan,’if you’re innocent,I can be your lover but if you’re guilty,I’ll arrest you & put you in prison myself’.
It’s still a HE in the novel tho

Kan DOES go to jail in book 2 tho, so how it ended in the drama aligns with how things go in book 2. But he doesn’t do all his bid there,he comes out a couple of years earlier due to good behavior. Wasan & KAN are STILL together & even he comes to pick Kan up from prison. Kan decides to run a restaurant or coffee shop. Wasan rises in ranks at work during the years Kan is locked up. Actually Wasan NEVER put in the evidence of Kan’s involvement in euthanasia, Kan went to prison for killing somsak. somsak was the one who killed the other patients.

Again,to those who don’t understand the ending.
Wasan forgave Kan when he gave him the blue hydrangeas(its withered now) & told him he love him, but he HAS to uphold the law by arresting his lover since he performed illegal euthanasia. Wasan understood why Kan did what he had to do but in his eyes,he has to do his duty since his boyfriend confessed, also as a policeman he has to do his job, no matter how much he loves Kan.
It may end there in the drama but sure as hell doesn’t end there in the novel. Hope I made it easy for you to understand & if you’re curious to how it ends,Book 2 has been linked a bit further in the comment section.

Kan spends 8 years in prison,comes out a bit early for good behavior,gets his license revoked so he plans on opening a coffee shop or restaurant . He’s still with Wasan tho. Meanwhile during those years Wasan keeps working hard & even got promoted in ranks. Kan later gets a letter from a terminally ill patient who wants Kan to perform euthanasia on them. Kan says no but Wasan smiles mischievously asking,‘aren’t you going to help them?’. The story ends there

I keep rewatching that hand pull into a kiss scene & the scene where KanWasan are both shirtless, Wasan slowly looks up at Kan,grabs the back of his neck & slowly kisses him. 🫦🫦

Now THIS is how you FUCKING ACT in a confrontational,frustrated,heartbroken scene. This is how you SHOW emotions, some of these actors need to learn from TorJJ, your pretty face won’t get you anywhere, if you’re not able to pull in the viewers & make them feel the characters pain,frustration & heartache.
Hats off to Tor & JJ.
