Guys let's not worry about the MDL ratings, MDL is more like wikipedia. The actors' and dramas' success depends more on the actual ratings and charts from China and IS is topping those and doing really well generally :D

It is doing really well and is #1 in all the relevant ratings and charts from China (not MDL) and Yangzi/Chengyi are currently topping all the celebrity charts too. Only those charts will matter in determining whether the show will be counted as a success so it's all good, MDL is more like wikipedia haha

I totally agree! I hope they make up for it in the next episodes. I really really want the story to proceed with YD being the one who loves less than YY. Any idea how it is in the novel?

I'm just assuming that since we've seen MD taking over the body a couple of times. Technically the alchemy refers to the souls getting exchanged so this isn't supposed to happen but i think MD's character is too important for her to already be dead in Naksu's body.

The Naksu actress is the FL for s2 so i think they'll revive her body somehow and her soul will return to her original body

I think they were showing how powerful MD already is and that she is deliberately letting Naksu stay in her body. That scene was specifically to show that MD is powerful enough to stop the alchemy

I think MD's soul might've stayed in her body because of her special powers. I think her body is special so both the souls are residing there

Exactly! Also when Jin told the maidservant that he'd close the jinyowon door even if she was locked inside and how yul was okay with naksu getting killed in the initial episodes despite having feelings for her. They favour rules over love.

Yeah tbh that's why I really want this to be true. Naksu only has Uk by her side, it'll be nice to have her dad too. Plus, that way she'll have someone from the Jin family to help her even when everyone finds out that she is in the elder jin daughter's body

He understands how the alchemy works so he believes that MD's soul was in Naksu's body. He saw the body getting burnt so he thinks MD's soul died with it (the reality is different but he doesn't know that). They don't acknowledge it in the show because, as you rightly pointed out, he doesn't really care about it because he is only thinking about Naksu right now.

That's what i was thinking. A part of me was wondering whether the Jin husband might be housing his soul. The outsiders believe that the Songrim killed Naksu, maybe that's why he is against them? He has been going around looking for his daughter, maybe he was looking for his actual daughter? Maybe he was manipulated just like his daughter and didn't have all the facts.

He wouldn't have gotten petrified if the souls had been shifted back though

Yes, that's my favorite theory and I'm hoping it'll end up being true, but i ended up thinking of alternatives when the new character (the fake blind girl) showed up. MD couldn't befriend this fraud if she was a soulless shell of a human. So i think it might've always been a bit of a tripartite arrangement wherein the original Jin head was also possessed by a soul who helped her and the other mage stop the chaos. MD, Naksu and Uk can be their reincarnations and MD might be the most aware amongst them which is why she has given up her body to Naksu so that they can fulfill their destiny. MD might be a soulless personification of IS at one point but she definitely had a soul and was a human when she befriended the fake blind frenemy.

He is just glad Naksu has a body to house her soul in, he is not even curious to know the background of the real MD. As far as he is concerned, Naksu is MD. He is in love with the soul and not the body, so he'll love whatever body the soul resides in. If Naksu goes to another body, he'll love that body.

I know we are all worried about the love equations once Bu yeon/mudeok resurfaces but i have a very strong feeling that she won't even be participating in the love triangle. She seems the most powerful out of all the leads and looks like she can obviously take control of the body whenever she wants to, yet she only resurfaces when Naksu or Uk are in danger, never otherwise. She is more like a guardian angel and less like a woman in love with the ML.
