This series is so good T__T I also was terribly sad for Ram but also relieved he told King. At least he has someone else know about his situation because imagine if he just kept it to himself and hide it while his father kept cheating :(. Just remembering the look in his eyes... and trying to hide his tears from King... I also love how King just held him closely to his body and without judging him, let him cry and told him everything will be fine. My heart keeps breaking to pieces lol then I think of Duen's cute smile and I'm like cureeeeed.
This series has given me so many feels. It's well-paced and well-written. So I totally understand your feelings. When Ram was opening up to King about his father it was just heartbreaking. I know Ram prefers being more stoic towards people he doesn't know or trust. So the moment he really needed to let his guard down, he was comfortable enough to let King be there for him because he trusts him... ughhhh crying just thinking about it.
Duen & Bohn's scenes were adorable and Ram & King the morning after he stayed over. Plus Frong + Thara's moment when Frong apologized and they both smiled so sweetly. And seeing how Thara gives gifts to patients to cheer them up. And of course Mek and Boss when they finally admitted they felt the same. Yes of course there were some sad moments, but there were really sweet one's too.
Y'all I need theories about what's gonna happen with Mek and Boss. Because I know we all see them at the same camping ground in the intro so I'm sure we will get some answers there if they 'stay' a couple. But given the situation about the actor playing Mek leaving the series, do you think they are going hire someone else to play Mek if there's a season 2 or do you think they will make Boss end up with someone else? Their scenes were cute and then just... I remembered what happened... I'm not saying everything has to be wrapped up in a neat bow lol especially if they do a season 2... but any ideas?
I just realised that alot of the relationships in this series actually developed and bloomed because of plants:1:…
YESSSS I love this! And each of them has their own symbolism which is sweet. Red roses are obviously symbolic of true love, passion and desire. We see that a lot in Bohn's pursuit of Duen and their budding romance literally. Whereas the venus fly trap that King gives to Ram is symbolic of persistence and reminding us to opening up our hearts. And even though it would be harder to grow, that didn't stop King from giving Ram something really special by cultivating it himself. Like no matter what you have to go through to make something happen or no matter what you overcome (give the recent episodes), anything is possible. I'm just soft for this show rn lol
It's so sweet that the flower shop has connected so many of them :)
Okay ya'll rant ahead (and this of course is IMO. After all this I still will watch and finish this series because overall I am enjoying it but I have some things I wanted to say)...
It feels like there's always something missing in each episode. I really like the premise of this series, which is why I started watching but it's so confusing at some points.
So Tutor and Fighter were introduced when Tutor was a freshman. And 2 years pass and they have an animosity towards one another because of the way Fighter has acted around Tutor. BUT the whole "five/six" months "ago" to Fighter and HwaHwa kind of getting together and then fast forward to the present and we find out they're not official (then what is it that is going on? Besides Fighter obviously crushing on Tutor and not being honest about it)... I'm not one to demand labels on relationships. But it seems so disjointed. I feel like there should be more meaningful flashbacks but they're kind of awkward. If anyone has read the novel, can you explain HwaHwa and Fighter's start a little more for me?
I also find Zon's change in character when he meets Saifah up to get a guitar pick to be a little off putting (even thought their "date" was hella cute). The story makes sense mostly, but it feels choppy. Especially adding in that random scene with Japan and the guy from the soccer team. When he pressed him against the tree telling him to 'like him'. It literally came out of nowhere. And I get that we're getting more pairings, but it seems like it's just being thrown out there without much development. For instance, Boom and Dew. I see Boom (which is 'Blue' from the subs, but I heard Boom) getting 'hurt' by Dew and getting paired up with him but... I'm still just wrapping my head around plots thrown out at us...
And the scene when Fighter helps Tutor make his manager goal for the store to the part where Fighter disguises himself as a furry mascot to hand out flyers is just so poorly transitioned. Like what happened to the other scene? Was it on the same day?
Honestly, I really hope the pacing improves at this point. I can forgive it all if it just because a lot more smoother. The end of episode 5 seemed to be a bit better and I have hopes for episode 6... but they had so much time to edit.
OKAY YA'LL Big spoiler below. I have been watching the drama (I haven't added it yet to my list) and I was checking it out bit by bit at the end (because I understand the story line). But I have a question about Lu Yi (for those who have watched it/read the novel)... * * * * * How long was Lu Yi in prison for? Since I'm assuming he got out his life imprisonment (I got some translations for the final ep where he is released). Does anyone know?? THANK YOU :D Also sorry if people have been asking. I want to assume a year... but if anyone knows, I would appreciate it!
Okay so I binged the first '6' episodes (I said I would wait lol but that never works out).
Based on what we're getting so far, I think it's pretty odd to see Hao Ting develop feelings for Xi Gu THAT quickly, but I also understand how 'love can be unpredictable,' if that's where the writers went with kind of theme. Even though there isn't exactly a justification for Hao Ting's immediate feelings, we can't deny his puppy-like approach to getting Xi G's attention, which is endearing. I can appreciate that it's something different for an 'enemies to lovers,' plot line where often it takes a handful more episodes for people like Hao Ting to realize how much he cares about the other person and doesn't want to hurt them. I'm interested to see the development considering that boi (yes, THAT BOI) has a girlfriend... I mean... I'm not quite sure what their story is other than he was physically attracted to her... but I can tell it will get a little messy before it gets clear. Let's just hope our little Xi Gu heart isn't trampled by the drama because I think that girl is going to stir up some trouble (seeing as she made that petty comment when she saw him enter the club...)
Now as for Bo Xiang and his love interest, Zhi Gang... I REALLY need to see some more maturity and development from Bo Xiang's end... we got a taste of it when he had a level-headed conversation with Zhi Gang in episode 6, but that guy has a long way to go... I think his head is still in the clouds because he's experiencing his first love (and I know we as viewers can't fault him for that, but a piece of me just wants to pat his back and tell him it's going to be okay, and that it's okay to make mistakes since he has literally only been watching Zhi Gang from a distance). I do think that because he is impulsive (as we can see he's deeply affected by his moods), we have only seen Zhi Gang misinterpret his 'love' as blinding and disillusioning... I mean, I do hope Bo Xiang spends more time getting to know Zhi Gang in order to gain his trust and eventual affection. Because so far I kind of empathize with Zhi Gang, who probably DOES want a true and real love, but is scared. Perhaps because of the age gap, but also because he's been hurt before (based on what we've seen).
Overall, I like MODC, but there is something I'm missing from this series. I think that when the mutual love starts sparking between the couples, then we might be able to appreciate the chemistry more. I also hope we get a decent story development, since it seems like they will be following them into University. I just hope they don't take forever to get together and break a part constantly because of misunderstandings or people getting in the way. I get that it's 'a part of life,' but after watching pretty much most of the History productions, there IS a high bar to set for all of us. IMO :D
Let's see where the rest of the series takes us...
The writers of History usually give us happy endings. Most Taiwanese 'BL' productions have positive outcomes for queer couples. There are some exceptions that explore darker themes, but for History, we typically get leads and secondary lead couples who love stories 'come to fruition.' If that makes sense? I've watched a majority of them and it's been pretty typical of them. Even if there are some bumps along the way.
I wasn't going to bother with this because I was like "what's the point in watching a remake" but all the comments…
It's too good to miss!! They do cover the 'first' 2 Moons in the first 4 episodes in this series. But they do it in a way that makes sense. And since it is done sweetly and smoothly, we can concentrate on the new cast of the 'reboot' and continuation and not the previous one. I can appreciate the production strategy of showing the heart of the show at the beginning: so we don't forget about those precious moments from the first one, and also so we don't compare it to 'the first.'
Because of that, I have never once compared the two. I've never felt these guys are trying to replace the first one (it feels less like a remake the more the story develops). Since we are getting a continuation of 2 Moons, the original story). And here we get SO MANY MORE sweet scenes. And the chemistry between MingKit (and eventually ForthBeam) is just incredible.
There are different actors, but they all have huge heart. I've seen behind the scene videos (also check their Insta's if you can!), and they're all so sweet and hard working and really precious. And I'll admit... I actually prefer this one. The story has continued from Book 1 (for those that have read the series) and will cover Book 2. So bottom line: there's so much more to 2 Moons.
GO AHEAD AND COME FOR ME -Bless this remake/continuation. It's the best <3! No awkwardness, stiffness in acting, and those *romantic scenes* I'm swooning........ THE chemistry's... if ya'll need 1 reason to watch this, I'll give you 30 :D
I need to vent a little... although I don't dislike Hong Ye...we have seen more romantic development for her and her beau than we have of late for Jack and ZZ... I mean, I know we have 6 episode left, but they should definitely be filled with their romantic development for the ACTUAL secondary leads in this BL drama. I think it's been overshadowing what could have literally been for the last few episodes for Jack and ZZ. I mean, they told us they get an intense romantic scene too and at this point, I'm just hoping we get enough screen time with them. So it feels like their relationship was able to become as full and wholesome as Tang Yi and Shao Fei. I don't think a History series has been able to successfully cover the secondary couple's story as well as the primary... I still think the writing and pacing are intriguing, but I don't want to feel like they really missed out on character development for Jack and ZZ when they become a lovely couple... and we don't even know anyone's background story except for Tang Yi. If the episodes were even just 30 minutes each, I think we could have more... don't get me wrong. I still have this series at a 10 and we'll see what happens but I'm a little like... this better be going somewhere... because I'm sure Jack and ZZ have had only "20 minutes" of screen time when they are together... does anyone else find they are dragging out what happened 4 years ago way too long? Do you think they could have solved it by now? Maybe create a nuance issue from it? So that we could see more from both lead couples?
LOLLLL the way the History3 staff has been trolling us with these edits... highkey impressed how each episode has kept me on the edge of my seat. We better be getting an EPIC embrace scene for our couples lol I swear, all this hype for it... one month to go before I can binge watch this series in full again. Not that I'm not on #rewatch&repeatsquad lol... my heart <3
YES YES YES... for all them who have every questioned Shao Fei's integrity: THAT SMALL BUT IMPORTANT SCENE before his boss finds out he was shot: we can see how much Shao Fei is a reliable and trusted person in his unit. Helping people do their work, taking on projects, and doing people's work/being integral to everything getting done and processed (like paperwork).
Then again that scene at the hospital...as we all know Shao Fei's desire to protect people, we see again how selfless he is... when they reiterate how he's just like that.
I'm also not worried about any 'parting from you to protect you' from Tang Yi because we can count on Shao Fei for holding onto and protecting Tang Yi. If he was determined for 4 years for finding out the truth, I don't doubt his resolve. Plus I see some emotional scene coming up and I just want them to be happy already. I love slow build ups to relationships but the wait is killing meeee lol
the show is good, but the only bad point of it is how shao fei's character was created. he's an adult, a cop,…
Hmm I can agree with you to an extent, but we have seem Shao Fei act impulsively numerous times already. What we saw, right from the beginning, about how determined he is when he's investigating what happened 4 years ago, and his ‘dive in’ approach to finding out the truth. As a cop, he may need to learn how to be more subtle and less reactive, but obviously he has a lot of fire inside of him (especially considering we know how important that female cop was to him). It isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but yes, he should be more careful because at the end of the day, he’s in law enforcement. But it is a BL show…
He may not be sensitive to how overbearing he’s been to Tang Yi, but his desire (right from the start of the show) has been to seek justice for that female detective. I do know what you mean by the trope. For someone who is ‘disturbed,’ but is depicted as cutesy, but I think that’s a harsh evaluation of Trapped IMO, just because there have been many stable moments between them where they have had level-headed conversations: overnight in woods in that abandoned cabin, when they had lunch together afterwards, or at the Tailor shop well after their lunch. When they were running together, and after Shao Fei accepted Tang Yi's 'advances' after he pushed him in the house. Plus, Tang Yi has been provoking Shao Fei in a suave way to get a gauge of our Shao Fei’s emotions.
I don’t think he’s acting like a spoiled child, I do, however, think he’s acting immaturely because he’s gotten much closer to Tang Yi on an emotionally intimate level since their ‘handcuffed’ experience with together in the woods. And has been figuring out how to be close to him post-their new relationship (which is not quite cop vs gangster). The reason why we are seeing that immature side is because he WANTS to be with Tang Yi. And his little nugget of a brain needs to connect and realize the reason why he doesn't want any other guys touching him is because he wants to be the one touching Tang Yi romantically. He's getting there... I don't think it's toxic. I just think he needs to be more honest, but I'm sure we will see that soon.
I do think this is his immature way of ‘acting out,’ his feelings, which he still hasn’t directly admitted to Tang Yi. When he does, I am sure we will get sweet moments.
Compared to other BL tropes of ‘the immature stereotypical \BL/ figure,’ I think Shao Fei is refreshing in the way he openly displays his emotions in front of Tang Yi, instead of insisting that it’s not ‘love,’ because he’s a ‘man,’ and ‘men’ can’t be together. There is a lot more annoying and passive aggressive actions I've seen in dramas, compared to sticking out your tongue at a CCTV. I’ve never seen a BL character do that, so I burst out into laughter. Clearly he’s impulsive, but he’s still finding his way into his feelings, since clearly Tang Yi is more than just a ‘half-friend,’ in his heart.
CTL and ROW, granted I gave those dramas high ratings, should have been developed further. At least in terms of plot. We got 2 episodes in CTL to glaze over the romantic elements, but nothing more. I consider that. It was an improvement (we got a lot of sweet moments; I loved ROW and how it showed a queer family bond). But, time wise to flesh things out, compared to History 1, BUT, there could have been more growth potential.
Lol I've watched a few airing dramas and regretted it SOOO much (because of the juicy cliffhangers lol). But I had been waiting a year for this release of HIStory 3...... so that got the better of me. HAHA love that (:
WHO ELSE IS WAITING FOR THESE SHIPS TO SAILLLL WTF DID I DO TO MYSELF BY WATCHING THIS BEFORE IT FINISHES LMAO **send help** WHYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYY.... LOL this is just so damn good and the chemistry is lit
