He appears when the plot involves him but as u can see it's not the case. FL past being reveal one by one.. And all the charcaters revolves around her and her family..

He must take male centered drama roles, he is acting in the female centered ones...
Yeah... A lot of ML fans are really mad. Idk if it's true but it's kinda becoz they wanted the ML to shine more coz he's more popular.. This is not a n empty word, I did read comments that says that. ZLH should take male centric coz his fans are kinda the toxic.

It still fits their character. Xie Zheng is more calmer. Chang yu asked him to choose who he wants to kill and choose chang xin and chang yu face yuan qing... Changxin is not on the bingo card of chang yu, he just happen to be there.. Yuan qing left so ML pursue him. Mandi died, what chang yu did is becoz her emotions are high.. Yuan qing told Xie zheng to kill him but instead Xie zheng choose to capture him... So as u can see their situation is different.

My point exactly. What happened to ML being a marquis. I mean she's a fighter and all but for her to be a hero…
They get their resources in the novel.. They can't just change the plot out of convenience.

I am not liking where this is heading. suddenly she is a general? i mean yes she is depicted as someone physically…
Lol. She's not general yet... She joined the battle and killed 2 generals alone. She spared with general he and it was shown already that her father indeed pass down the technique to her... It's been like 3 or 4 episodes and u still can't let go the fact that her actions rooted becoz Xie zheng lied.. Why blame her when she herself learned and apologized. It's called character development.

Am I the only one who doesn't like her being a general? I just want her to be just an ordinary woman
Even from the start she's no ordinary woman.. She's noble blood, she just don't know it.

I think she fell first, he fell harder.
She's attracted to him at first.. Guy definitely fell in love first when she helped him hide in the piggery. I think FL fell in love when he accepted the fake marriage and when he saved chang ning.

Loved today’s episode—honestly, it hit different. Chang Yu’s maturity is on a whole other level. She’s not just a strong female lead, she’s intentional—every decision she makes comes from a place of self-awareness and clarity, not impulse or emotion.

Her choice to leave Xie Zheng wasn’t about pride or unresolved anger—it was about growth. That’s what makes it so powerful. When she said, “I love you, but I don’t want to rely on you,” it wasn’t rejection—it was definition. She was setting the terms of who she wants to be. She loves him deeply, but she refuses to let that love become her identity or her shortcut. She wants to build her own name, stand on her own merit, and reach a place where she can face him as an equal—not someone sheltered under his shadow.

What really stands out is how rare that kind of thinking is. Most characters would choose love as a safe haven, but Chang Yu chooses self-growth, even when it hurts. She understands that love shouldn’t come at the cost of losing yourself. Walking away from someone you love, not because you have to but because you choose to grow—that takes a different kind of strength.

And her decision regarding Teacher Tao made it even better She didn’t accept the adoption out of convenience, status, or benefit. In fact, she rejected it at first, which shows how much she values independence and sincerity. She only accepted it becoz of their bond, which makes the relationship feel natural and earned, not opportunistic. It shows that she doesn’t cling to people for gain—she values connection, not advantage.

I also love how she understands timing. She knows that where she is right now isn’t where she wants to stay, and instead of forcing things to work, she steps back to grow into someone better. That level of patience and long-term thinking is rare, especially in emotional situations like this.

Chang Yu is such a refreshing female lead—understanding, principled, and quietly powerful. She doesn’t need dramatic speeches or grand gestures to show strength. Her independence speaks for itself. She’s the kind of character who doesn’t just grow within the story—she defines what growth actually looks like.

And I truly believe she’s going to earn her own name in the end. Not just be known as a marquis’ wife, but as Chang Yu in her own right—with her own title, her own achievements, and her own merit.

She was taught martial arts by her father, with blades. She was not supposed to use it and let others know about…
It was mentioned.. I forgot the episode but she did say that she has this technique that her father told her not to do. And when she went to thst man who destroy her stall, her gang realize she's holding back when she beat them up.. I also forgot the episode. Xie Zheng saw a technique she used and there is this flashback where the teacher (general he I think) that taught the ML uses the same technique... So I doubt her father only taught her how to beat up thugs but she did learn military techniques.
