Yeah, no, i believe there still would've been a story if they didn't gave like half of the screentime of this episode to them. They ARE important, but not to that extent. Heesu and Seungwon are still the main characters, not supporting leads.

Through the whole episode, i was like yeah, this scene is important, this one too, this is the last one for them, right? Wrong. And by the end of it, there were barely any time to explore more of the (at least) friendship side to the main MLs relationship.

Sadly when so many people pointed out that second pair being so prominent in the promotional material is shifty no one paid it any mind. I just hope they're gonna give more screen time too Heesu and Seung Won tomorrow :/ this whole "another secret admirer" situation is really interesting.

Annoyed the hell out of me that they gave so little screen time TO THE MAIN PAIR 🙂 compared to the previous two episodes. I feel like i jinxed myself by wishing that they gave more character development to Chan Yeong and Ji Yu. This would've been okay if they didn't sacrifice main MLs scenes by doing this.

I mean, i hope. Nothing happened yet, but we're getting there.

The main queer leads had one meaningful scene in this episode and that's all. This is really unfair.

Here's hope that Heesu will realise that he's treating Seung Won just like Chan Yeong treats him, gets embarrassed, and apologies (←delusional).

Ji Yu, I'm so sorry, i wasn't familiar with your game. Really like that she truly is an unbothered queen.

However, i really hate Chan Yeong for how he treats Heesu: Like a sunday friend. He's here when he's bored, when he doesn't have his 10th girlfriend of the week, when he doesn't have anything else to do. But the moment he sets his eyes on someone he really likes, he's gone. This kind of behaviour is understandable from Heesu's side, cause as of now, Seung Won is no one to him (doesn't mean that it's not shitty). But from Chan Yeong, to his "best friend"? I really hate this guy more and more with every episode.

Anyhow, who do you think makes those carrot juice posts? Cause i have NO goddamn clue.

Bro those ARE the original characters. The first season is the prequel to the main story, that starts in the second season.

You know, after you said it, it really seems like wiping them out of episodes after their "relationship arc" is finished really is the best option considering that I'm positive there's gonna be zero pleasant surprises from their side.

Well, i mean, if they're here, might as well? I don't propose giving them even more screen time, just. Keep it as it is for now, the amount that they already have, just squeeze some actual honest to god character development instead of this cringy trope we have now.

Cause either it's, like you said, them being a couple and disappearing into the void which is...okay....but why were they here in the first place... OR their romance stretching out throughout the whole series without any actual development. And both of those pills kinda suck.

Honestly, i would prefer them to be their own characters with character development without romance, but it seems like it's not in the realms of possibility.

I really hope that they're gonna develop Ji Yu just enough for her to be a fully fleshed out character, cause i have a kind of a (positive) bias towards female characters, and prefer them to be well...people.... instead of a placeholder for your generic love interest.

Kinda don't care what happens to Chan Yeong, although, i think that they should focus a bit more on his personal problems instead of jumping right away on the romance train. Because if they really gonna put a man with a mentality of normalised "fast food" romance and a woman with almost nonexistent personality in relationship, it's gonna be a disaster. Which is a possibility, if they really did add a second couple just to add more screentime.

Although, i wish for them to remain just friends, cause I'm a firm believer that a character shouldn't exist only when romance is in the picture. Especially if this character is a woman. I cross my fingers and hope for the best regarding JiYu.

Oh it for sure feels very trope-y. I usually don't watch shows like that, but my gf asked me to review it for her, and i was reminded exactly why i usually don't watch much of BLs of this kind. But i should mention that the MLs by themselves don't feel bland, so it's still pretty interesting, if predictable so far. I also like the inclusion of wlw characters, it's pretty rare, as BLs usually go.
