What I really loved was that she was her prettiest and most colourful self when she first revealed herself to him. That gave me butterflies :)

The whole point of that widow outfit is to make her look old and drab. That’s literally the reason why widows were made to wear clothes like that. They must remain chaste and unattractive. The hair is pulled back super tight from the face. The male lead on the other land is wearing very decorative and colourful clothes. Thankfully Korea widows were allowed to keep hair. In the past Indian widows had to wear white and their hair was shaved off. Even 18 year old girls used to look 50.

Same exactly same. Which is why I am watching more Thai and Chinese dramas. More localised content.

Wait and watch, it could go either way, since the timeline shown in the drama 1700s or 1800s, did not allow legal remarriage of widows. So it could end in a romance dud (the drama otherwise is very very good ).

While I agree with you on platonic relationships with age gap, best examples I can think of are Skyfall, the intern, my mister, this one at least from the trailer looks to not be 100 percent platonic.
The plot also sounds similar (not same but reminds me of it) of a very famous best selling 1993 novel called Family Blessings, where the mother of the son and his cop partner (her son was a cop) bond together. That was more romantic and literary, this drama could be entirely non romantic, but don’t be surprised if the narrative does show romantic feelings. From the trailer it could go either way really.

I did not watch this drama. It was the cringey French at the beginning of the drama which did it for me. I could not watch it after that.

Yes also gendered ageism. Global people have a problem seeing older women and older women with younger men. But local people seem to like more representation age wise. For example dramas like Dear My Friends (about septuagenarians), noona dramas. Also slice of life dramas like the omnibus Our Blues and crazy Makjangs… international audience only like seeing “hot oppas” and super young beautiful heroines or zombies.

I am glad that it’s primarily meant for local audience. A lot of global content gets watered down.

Not really choosing from what’s offered is what I meant. Its so competitive in the kdrama acting world. I am sure the agents and the agencies also push an actor to make a decision. You may like strawberry but you may be forced to choose between an apple or an orange.

It’s not a choice, I am assuming. Actors have to choose what they are offered and hope for the best that it’s a good career and financial decision.

After fanning herself, after she saw his abs, I do not think k drama will give us them as siblings. I am assuming this is not game of thrones. She is extremely attracted to him. For him as of now she appears to be an intriguing but pesky intruder.

Cris looks so cute and empathetic with full of kindness when talking to the male lead. They are so sweet to watch. She is an amazing actress.

After watching the comments here on this page, I feel like writing a science fiction. In a galaxy far far away, in the year of 2223, all women of earth who turn 35 are banished into this solar system closest to earth which is the Alpha Centauri stars.
The earth people DO NOT HAVE TO GET OFFENDED TO SEE women beyond 35 and the mid35 plus women in this new planet have created a multi galactic empire where chocolate is available everywhere with buckets of fried chicken and diabetes does not exist. Wonderful win win situation for everyone.

They people who are new just come here to complain “oh the heroine is so old facepalm. Meanwhile the 50 year old hero Jung Woo Sung of tell me that you love me is so young and handsome” (I am exaggerating but you get my point, I really like him too. Loved him in Innocent Witness it’s a classic watch it).
