Uhm i kinda like it but kinda not???? The story started off good but felt lost towards the end. The series wasn't really well presented imo. I watched it for the storyline. Actings felt a little off for me. But anyways, a little watch. Didn't hurt for sure sksk.
Love it ! Cheng Yi in costume never disappoints. Enjoyed every emotions watching it, specially the last episodes were quite heavy. Loved the characters, tho hated those meant to hate. Visuals served! Osts and BGMs were love !!
I could tell most of the plots but two things were very unexpected - Rumu's death and Qingtong's brother's last moments. Nonetheless, didn't had to skip 99% of the drama. The ending was satisfying.
I initially had this drama on my plan to watch list due to Cheng Yi. But later I fell for Cheng Huasen since moonlight mystique and thoroughly enjoyed the double dose . One thing I really loved was they used the same music and scenes from Love in Pavillion for flashbacks instead of shooting them with different actors. As a sequel , it totally is a 10/10.
I haven't watched Red-moon pact and won't watch either, but these two dramas - a big YES!!!
Then just follow the sequels. If you aren't familiar with DMBJ series yet, let me tell you that they did not release every sequels in order. Some series were released early but to the main story, they are a sequel.
There is another compilation series ' Time Raiders' ( 2025) that also starts from the first original story. Let me know if this helps or you need more ^^

Finally finished it. Started on the day it was released ... Really savoured WOF lol. Love the story, costume, acting and pace and MOST IMPORTANTLY - the music . Gosh!! I love the music. Specially those from TLC , Xiaohong and LY 's fighting scenes. ( Anyone knows where can I find those bgms?? ) . One thing that really made me satisfied was the ending. I love it. Stone's real identity was a surprise but it was good as well.
I liked most characters. Couldn't hate LY. The one character that i found a bit annoying was Miss Zhong. I guess that's intended but yeah. Apart from TLC, I loved Xiaohong's character the most. Just pretend you didn't hear me say I developed a crush on 4 characters 😂😂😭 !! TLC ofc, Shen Langhun , Puzhu & Wanyu !! No rankings.
Love the osts , all are really good. Love the aesthetics. My fav costume elements would be Xiaohong's nails. Pretty and Dangerous! Overall, I really enjoyed, laughed and cried .

This is a side story. You can watch it as a standalone but if you wanna delve deep into the overall story, maybe watch while you wait. You'll have a better understanding of the mystic nine and zhang family dynamics.

No, because the ratings are individual. I am not rating by comparing it with others, I'm rating it for how enjoyable the show I just finished was. It's just that this one is imo was well made which in no way means I must put this alone in 10 rating category and give others a lower one.
