You said it yourself, if it was CY, SYQ would gladly die and wouldn't care one bit cuz he's crazy like that lol. He really loved QM and it had to be him for SYQ to feel his karma. In my personal opinion, QM did care about SYQ, his adoptive mother and the nanny, even if it's a little, but every time he realised that he cared, he doubled down and killed them so as to not be 'weak', the only exception to that would be QQ.
I also don't think SYQ ever truly felt remorse for the bad things he did and if it was CY who killed him, he'd wouldn't have given the tiger tally to her. The only reason he gave it was to get back at QM and because he cared about Shisan enough to leave her a way out.

Personally, I think Deng Kai hard carried Qi Min because like you said, there is really nothing to actually like about his character, but Deng Kai made it work somehow. One thing I'd disagree is, SYQ did deserve that. As much as I vibe with SYQ, it was rather fitting that he gets betrayed and killed by the brother he loved so much. Unlike Qi Min, SYQ had some redeeming qualities like he truly loved his family, was a capable general and cared about his soldiers and wasn't afraid of death to a fault, so it's somewhat easy for us to forget all the bad stuff he did but he too was evil, and karma had to find its way to him in some way.
I feel you. It was one thing to beat the local gangs in a village and fighting seasoned warriors other and with…
Yeah, at least they tried to make sense of her skills but if I'm being honest, it wasn't totally convincing, so I had to remind myself that it's a drama, but it did take away from my watching experience a little. Though I wonder if having almost supernatural strength is a reoccurring theme in chinese historical dramas as POB also had a character like that.
I have honestly lost interest once i saw them sky rocketing the FL to a general within 6-7 episodes…like come…
Exactly! Her road to becoming a general wasn't convincing and the way all the soldiers were just ready to follow her was too idealistic like the soldiers were reluctant to get treatment from a royal physician cuz they didn't trust a woman to do her job properly but sure they'd follow the FL into battles.
I feel you....the drama was great then eventually i feel ML slowly disappear then appear. Beginning was so good…
Ikr! The first half was so good and the chemistry between the leads was off the charts. It's just sad that I feel myself gradually losing interest with each ep 😭
1. In the flashback from the clinic cellar, where LiLun and ZhuYan fall apart, it was 8 years ago, right? Why…
Sorry to jump into the conversation but I had some questions too so if you'd like to answer them. Do we know why ZY was a vessel for malicious energy? If he was born like that, are there other great demons who are vessels too? If not, then why was he special as we know he was neither the oldest nor the most powerful cuz like Lilun existed who is said to be his equal. And there are potentially other great demons too since no one was surprised that CH existed.
Also, regarding what you said, is it not likely that both prison incident/Lilun leaving ZY and the blood moon massacres happened 8 years ago because during the prison incident, ZY found the fire and accidentally struck LL with a fatal blow which resulted in them falling out and ZY also started losing control ever since the fire entered his body? So, the timeline has to be pretty close together, right?
Guys, I just found out that the actor playing Yuzhi is 20...I've been so used to the actors being older than me that it didn't even occur to me that he might be so young.
The ending kinda weird for me... 🤣🤣🤣 Why it became a Musical??? 🤣🤣🤣
It felt weird to me too. I can see what they were trying to do, maybe like an epilogue with merry scenes of the two generations with the theme song. The idea wasn't bad, but it was done poorly so it became kinda weird.
I am no way near finishing the drama but I wanted other viewers’ opinion on MQY & CZ dynamic. Like I know…
I didn't finish the drama yet either but if you'll take my two cents on MQY. Honestly, MQY not being absolutely blind in his obsessive love is what saved his character for me. Scheming is his second nature and survival mechanism; he simply can't help it. Yes, he schemed and manipulated CZ again and again but if you'll notice, CZ was never the main target or variable but more like an added benefit for him. He always had some big plan working in the background, but his personal issues required him to test CZ's love and force her to choose him time and again which gave him assurance but inevitably ended up using CZ. Using CZ was never his intention. This cycle of toxicity was probably another thing he couldn't help, and CZ knew and understood that which is why despite being hurt, CZ never actively tried to change him or held it against him in the long run.
MQY is a scheming, manipulative, obsessive and morally grey person. Some of his actions are right. some are wrong, he is very flawed but that's just who he is. He may have been raised by his father, but he also has his mother and uncle's blood in him. Not to mention, his entire bloodline has problematic people throughout history. As for remorse, I don't think MQY ever regretted the things he did, good or bad so yeah, no groveling.
I have been avoiding the previews, but I hope that this is not one of those dramas which needs side characters to be dying left and right to make the finale grand. At this point, I'm getting pretty attached to most of the supporting characters, I don't wanna see anyone die please.
Lingbo letting Yuzhi go, contemplating her life and feelings and being with the person who actually loves and cares about her is such a breath of fresh air. And they are soo cute together.
