In my opinion, having ambitions is fine. Wanting power to be able to protect himself and his loved ones is fine. Wanting and priortising the throne over FL is also fine as at the end of the day, he is the SML and ML and FL will end up together.

What I don't wanna see is him obsessing over the FL when she eventually walks away, blaming and taking out his jealousy on the ML and plotting futile and clumsy schemes (with or without the help of grand tutor) which the ML is clearly too smart to fall for.

We can see that Wuyi and Li Mao have differences and will go their own ways but I really really hope that they don't make them enemies and actually put them against each other cuz not only it's predictable and cliched but also there's literally no competition between them. Li Mao has very little talent in scheming and legit has his emotions written on his face in bold and doesn't hold a candle to Wuyi in any kind of mind games and plotting.

I don't know if there's more info about them in the novel or whether we'll see any of them in the coming episodes but generally speaking, dramas hardly show princes in numeric order as some could be already dead, some could be irrelevant and/or untitled and some could be off to other places doing their own thing. The reason we saw these princes (with the exception of 4th prince) is simply because they were available for marriage.

Yes, in the coming episodes you can see the male lead scheming more and the female lead generally just says what she wants outright. Also the male lead definitely fell too quickly but in episode 13, he explains his thought process as he fell in love so if you stick around till then, hopefully it'll make more sense to you.

Your preference is totally up to you. But as far as this drama is concerned, between the two leads, the male lead is definitely the bigger manipulative schemer. In fact, the female lead is rather straight forward who openly owns up to her actions and wants.
