Honestly, there were a lot of mats portrayed during the Beixiang arc that resemble prayer rugs but are no way exclusive to Islam but I do agree that the particular mat in question does appear problematic like you said. Though I do think that it was a genuine oversight rather than an intentional attempt to be disrespectful.

It's been a while since I watched HDL and though I really liked the drama, it did have a lot going on. Compared to that, Perfect Crown is pretty straightforward. If you are struggling with HDL, I'd suggest giving this a try. Production-wise, this is really well made and is a fun watch overall.
