They first met four years ago cos JXN’s father asked XW to help escort her to the capital. Along the way they met some bandits and got separated from the rest of the Jiang household. The 2 ended up in the wilderness in snow and ice. XW’s PTSD/mania was triggered and he said some things which may have hinted at his identity as a rebel and/or his motives for going to the capital. JXN saved him by giving him some of her blood to drink. It is probable that he has harboured some feelings for her since then, but subsequently he felt that she had become wayward, obtuse, and cruel. He is wary about her revealing his secret. He’s also (ostensibly) worried about her harming his cousin Yan Lin who is in love with her, although it quickly becomes apparent that he also has feelings for her at least in this timeline. In the previous life/timeline, JXN was probably oblivious to all these undercurrents when she was 18 and also apparently forgot most of the incident, and was therefore in XW’s words, allowed to live on for a few more years.

Yes he's doing nicely. If Dylan Wang was a revelation in LBFAD then this could be ZLH's turn. I keep forgetting ZLH was also in LBFAD - he was ok there but not as memorable as DW. Plus Joe Xu also in the mix - hard to compete.

Same same. The characters are so strangely written in OFL, so much so that I took a very cursory look at the novel and realised that the scriptwriters have probably (once again) mangled the screenplay. BL just hasn’t had much luck with her scripts in her recent dramas. Hoping SOKP will make up for that.

Yes, IKR. Like I said should be BL's year except the scripts for her parts have not lived up to expectations. That's why still have slight bated breath over Kunning Palace and part of me still waiting for the other shoe to drop as it so often does with cdrama. But up to this point, already worth it cos of ZLH's aforementioned jawline 🤣 and laser death stares. Oh and there's a pretty notable 2nd male lead as well, most recently seen in Scent of Time, if you've watched that.
Nearly 1/3 of the eps over - at this stage I'm thinking this could be one of those dramas which I wouldn't mind going over 40 eps, if only to enjoy seeing ZLH's amazing jawline for a bit longer 😍

Yes, I like this couple for their mutual respect and mutual recognition of each other's intelligence. Some bumps are coming up, but hopefully the writers do a good job and don't veer off character.

Pretty great so far. 12 eps in and it's leaving most of us hungry for more, which is very promising. Really enjoying seeing ZLH tackle a complicated, damaged character, not to mention his amazing jawline 😂. Lots of us here for BL who's having a great run this year with lots of dramas airing, albeit not all of them with great scripts. It's also a good year for ZLH as he's in quite a number of dramas too this year.
