Too right, lots of sloppy/bad translation, mostly cos they struggle to find the equivalent titles for nobility…
It was the Sleepless Princess, but you won't find it anymore cos they cleaned up the subs after the first airing. It was just that it was so bad and so hilarious that it's forever burned in my mind - Zheng Ye Cheng telling the 2nd male lead something along the lines of "It seems Your Highness is very fond of blowjobs. My mansion is very big, please feel free to blow wherever you like." 🤣🤣🤣
Some random thoughts on cdramalandAs a medical student, sometimes, its so funny to me how a historical drama that…
Too right, lots of sloppy/bad translation, mostly cos they struggle to find the equivalent titles for nobility in English. However these are not the craziest subs I've seen - once you have watched Mango TV translating blowing the flute as a "blowjob" nothing can surprise anymore.
I was wondering about the blood thing too - if it was just rehydration, damn, there's so much snow and ice around, just melt somelah 😂. But apparently the blood is needed to treat his schizo/PTSD episodes - maybe he needs a dose of iron? 😂 But of course we all know it's just to make the point that she was noble and decisive enough to cut herself to save him............
Vomitting blood is uber classic - they just aren't dead till they spit up red 😂.
Surprisingly great chemistry between the leads and some lovely kungfu moves. Could it be that we are actually getting 2 great period cdramas at the same time with this and Kunning Palace? Fingers crossed!
Why have they made poor beautiful ZLH look like a kabuki actor? Really, there've been too many cringe-worthy makeup faux pas in costume c-dramas this year.
I don't remember ever seeing a drama where Xu Hai Qiao is not a villain, does that mean he will be one in this…
My fave Joe Xu role was in Lost Love in Times where he was first the villain but then later a more layered, nuanced and rather forlorn second male lead. But he’s also been in things like The Dark Lord in which he plays the very shrewd and cunning male lead, not entirely good but definitely the one you want to win. It’s just lately that he seems to be exploring various bad guy roles. So far, it doesn’t look like he’s necessarily the big bad guy in this story.
The way DFS asks LLH if he should check on FDB after the big showdown and SGD's death really feels like two parents and a kid esp after the wedding chamber scene 😄
Yes,I really agree that SGD is the real villain.Do you still remember how SGD approaches LXY to defeat Jinyuan…
Think might have been even earlier because the whole thing with the He family happened before that - about 3 years before? Perhaps he started getting really jealous of LXY once he became a martial arts genius.
You mean newly released or dramas already completed? If the latter, there’re dramas like Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty and the ever sublime Word of Honor.
Btw.. That Yun guy is bad. I hate him for poisoning LXY! And he act remorse and regret in earlier ep but back…
Yup what kind of organisation keeps a traitor who poisoned their founder - duhh. Only one person hates and doesn’t trust him but even she doesn’t keep a close eye on him. All the smart ones must have died in the big battle ten years ago……

But other fun 3 amigos or 2 amigos type dramas include things like Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty….
