I don't think its just that. He is in good health still and just doesn't want to name a successor in case the…
Exactly - king just wants to be top dog for as long as he can and sees the world only as a dog-eat-dog kind of place. Narrow minded/narrowly focused and terrible parent about sums him up.
LOL no wonder i get the dark dim gloomy vibe when i watched the trailer. It's related to Luoyang!
I wonder if that's the atmosphere in the novels - 3 different teams produced Longest Day in Chang'an, Luoyang and WBFL but they all have similar look and feel in terms of atmosphere and colour grading..............
Yup I was just thinking it's strange that all the Ma Boyong adaptations have this look despite the fact all different production teams. Oh yes, my lasting impression of Luoyang was that everything and everyone was constantly moving, running around like lotsa headless chickens. I'm still finding it a little hard to take Mi Chong completely seriously cos I still keep thinking of him as Si Ming from Eternal Love.......but the character is great - an intelligent and deadly opponent.
Chen Kun is great in this - brings back memories of Ning Yi - he really should do more meaty historical TV dramas. So much better than his Yin Yang Master movie. I find that all the Ma Boyong adaptations seem to have this "look" of slightly faded colours and dark atmosphere and there's way too much smoke/haze as well. The sky is also permanently overcast and threatening to storm......I don't mind dark overtones but when it makes it hard to see the characters clearly without having to tweak all my TV brightness and contrast controls for eg in the Siwencao meeting room or even when Zhuge Liang is having a meeting, then it becomes a problem.
The part where Chen Kun/Chen Gong got buried by XX is both funny and yet with undertones of the seriousness of the sit. That both of them are basically screwed if they don’t catch Zhulong cos one is already branded a traitor and the other has a three-month poison in him. Their interaction is great so far. The only thing I don’t like is the very dark moody colour, took a lot of adjusting with my TV controls before I could get an acceptable look. Even then I think they’ve overdone the grey and sombre look and there are too many shadows.
As of #16, am i correct in my understanding that Black Fox does not know BFX is his dream girl Xi Yun? And that…
HFX may or may not know (would be surprising if the master of the fountain abode really doesn't have a clue) - that remains to be seen in upcoming eps. As for BFX - she is purposely hiding her other identity as she prefers to wander the jianghu and hates palace intrigues. So she is fully aware that she is the Xiyun he is referring to - see her reactions during the meal he cooked for her.
Hmm.. no wonder I only saw the producer in some of the BTS clips.LOL... their life is a drama in itself ~So rumor…
Not rumour - they got together during Ancient Love Poetry and messily broke up during WRTW. Producer posted an OTT/melodramatic on soc med about how she was like a housewife who didn't have enough rice to cook with (apparently referring to not having enough material shot by her ex) etc etc
Well I guess it makes a lot of sense to have the action director beat him up it sounds like he'd be the right…
Yup sounds like he deserves it😂. Actually this sort of stuff must go on quite a bit in the industry? I remember Avenue X hinting that these sort of things are quite the norm in cdramaland - just that it isn't always visible to viewers of the dramas.
Yup am pretty sure he will change his tune when he finds out her real identity
These last 2 eps were great with their plot twist. Also appreciate the lightning speed at which they went thru the traditional solving of arrays and formations to get a new Kung fu technique 😆. Yes quicker release would be great. But buoyed by anticipation of Wind blows from Longxi starting tomorrow which will help make waiting for next eps of WRTW easier.
