cdrama household politics are like so predictable and same or maybe I watched too many dramas? But there isn't anything new, the villain characters don't have much depth or motivations. I'm talking about the duke's mansion. From what I've seen, the aunts and the cousins are like evil for the sake of being evil? Like they just need some characters to whisper mean things abt the female lead. Sure the aunts getting mad about wei rao and first branch gaining more control over household affairs is fair but what about the mother in law's niece? Why she is so like worked up? Sure, Wei rao has a reputation but that doesn't justify their cartoonish or like two dimensional behaviours lol. I wish we had more villains with actual depth. However the whole A chou/ Wei rao scheme is fun to follow, and I'm curious to learn more about her maternal family esp her mother. She seems to be a member of the imperial harem? Such a shocking twist in my opinion. On the note, can anyone suggest me household dramas with like actual good schemings which aren't predictable and villains have actual motivation and depths? Thanks!

a chou wrote a letter or something about how she and wei rao were switched on wedding day and put that in lu zhao's pillow as a leverage against the wei family. Han liao planted a spy in the duke's mansion, and the spy was searching for another secret letter which was actually a bait by lu zhao. So the spy guy saw A chou's letter while searching and maybe like made a copy? Or anyway he took the contents and gave them to han liao

If the drama keeps this momentum up, I believe the ratings will rise again. A lot of people including me, seem to rate after finishing the show. So I'm not getting disappointed.

In the novel, there is only one character called Wei Rao. No two person with same face where one is poor and other is rich. There is only one female lead in the novel, the drama adaptation changed a lot from the novel
