I’m only 2-3 episodes into this. Though I am entertained I don’t know for how long. Just a lot of stuff doesn’t…
Things happen to move on the plot. The writing is… poor, to put it lightly. Some watch it for the leads, others for the angst & chemistry. It’s certainly entertaining , but don’t expect much logic or deep thought though 😅
The sound editor and the scene editor must’ve been under some kind of spell, otherwise I don’t know how they can reason the sometimes entirely out of place BGM/sound effects and choppy editing 😅😅
“To do nothing is to do something”. I love the wisdom behind the “Path of Inactivity” so much. It was touched upon in The Long Ballad (the Manhua), but imo not enough. I hope they’ll delve into the Dao teachings a bit more in this drama.
I have nothing against the Main Actress not allowing intimate scenes in dramas, she’s entitled to keeping certain boundaries, however if they had chosen her, the Executive Team should’ve been able to cater for the actress’s demands.
If they really wanted her, the plot could’ve been altered to the point that even without kissing we would see that they’re crazy for each other (i.e. Pride & Prejudice 2005) or just don’t select that actress? Smh
Really enjoyed it, though I do wish they could’ve stuck to the novel more. Of course, the censorship board would’ve never approved the drama if it followed the novel to a T 🥲
Pity the producers didn’t include the novel ending where the Hei Feng - Bai Xi couple had a son (who was nameless for 8 years because the couple kept disagreeing on which Feng character to use lol) and how they basically became the King & Queen of the Martial World guarding over the new Empire.
Love the drama, and the characters are pretty good. Initially the Yu Bofeng and Dr Yu scenes were way too funny, didn’t expect that turnaround.
PS. I was surprised to see that Wan Peng has sympathisers over here. People, are you serious? 🥴 He’s a psychopath with massive control issues. I have also been beaten up by my dad, so what? I would be absolutely disgusted with myself to behave toward others the way he did.
you just called wei zhi childish and proceeded to give examples of how shen chong was the one acting immature…
To want to protect her relationship with her family, and ensure harmony with the in-laws in the future is not childish at all. He did communicate, his problem was not seeing any other solution beyond needing time to become somebody worthier in the in-laws’ eyes.
