Epilogue 2 - Siming has 2 kids. When Chang Ming (eldest son) was a kid, he gets the Orchid Bone after DFQC takes Orchid away (Orchid’s rebirth takes place in Siming’s “prison”, its duration is 10+ years). The Orchid Bone finally turns into a spirit when CM is 20+yo. The story is about them going into the mortal world and falling in love with each other. Very sweet ❤️
Epilogue 3 - DFQC takes Orchid to see the mortal realm at her request. They managed to make the emperor faint, cause upheaval in the Jianghu, and decide that having a quiet life is best after all. Orchid said she wanted a big family, DFQC was happy to oblige.
Epilogue 4 - DFQC and Orchid’s eldest son is a little tyrant! Chang Ming and his wife, Bone Orchid, came to visit the family, and Little Demon King is making trouble by trying to flirt with Bone Orchid, despite his young age. Chang Ming is not amused lol. DFQC is very proud of him, as CM used to have a crush on Orchid when he was a kid. DFQC and Orchid have also got a baby girl, mini Little Orchid.
Epilogue 5 - Sansheng with her son, a Little Moxi visits Orchid & DFQC. Mini Little Orchid, who is 5, takes a liking to Little Moxi, and even kisses him. He considers her now “his person”. DFQC is not amused! He’s wondering how could he ever attack the Heavenly Realm given the entanglement between his daughter and the God of War’s son.
Epilogue 6 - Little Demon King is 18, he goes to Little Moxi, the new God of War now, to test his power and abilities. Mini Little Orchid, 15, goes with him as it’s time to get married as she promised Little Moxi. The Heavenly Realm is going to experience some interesting times. Orchid and DFQC have got another son, 5, who’s a little demon and doesn’t allow his daddy some alone time with mummy LOL
I’ve finished reading the book! I loved it. It’s quite different from the drama, but there are quite a few narrative threads, dialogue and character/setting descriptions which were used in the drama. It’s not a very faithful adaptation, but I think it’s preserved the spirit of the book quite well. I’ll post book epilogue scenes in the spoilers, if you’re interested.
P.S. In the novel, there’s no second male lead. The God of War is called Moxi and he’s married to Sansheng (set in the same universe as the author’s book Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang), with whom he’s got a cute baby son (the baby is born before Orchid’s rebirth).

I have a friend who’s watching it, and she told me what the ending is, so I checked it out as well. I wasn’t aware there was supposed to be another ending?
I got stuck at about 80% into the mortal realm plot, which is almost unpalatable, and waited to see what the ending was like to determine whether I should continue watching the drama or not. Then I saw the ending and nope, I’m dropping this.

I agree! Even the Heavenly Emperor stopped being an eye-sore for a bit at the very end, helping stop the Evil God and explaining what Glazed Fire was. It’s literally his only contribution, making it a 100% improvement from his previous absolutely useless-self.

I feel you! I agree with you. It was full of pain, and Xu Kai really knows how to cut out our hearts, but it was wayyyyy too dragged out. I love Legends! Bai Lu & Xu Kai have got some of the best kisses in C-dramas, indeed it’s pity about the last arc /sigh
CLJ have been very smart about their execution, and the superior production as well as impressive acting (let’s be honest nobody expected such a huge improvement from Wang Hedi) have truly made it stand out.

- Before sacrificing themselves, the CP is either getting ready to get married or actually got married: Qing Mu to Houchi, Orchid with DFQC; - Following lover’s sacrifice (Qing Mu / Orchid), the significant other is unable to stop their love from dying and falls ill (Houchi / DFQC); - Qing Mu is reborn as Bai Jue True God, Orchid as Goddess of Xilan. They both retain all of their memories but are pretending not to remember their significant other ie Houchi and DFQC; - Houchi and DFQC are doing their best to have Bai Jue and Xilan Goddess, respectively, acknowledge them and their love, but the latter refuse to do so; - Bai Jue and Xilan Goddess both marry other people they don’t love as subterfuge, so that the both of them could sacrifice themselves to save the realms so that their significant others wouldn’t be affected by their sacrifice (which is a BS idea, since it never works) - At this point the plot diverges, as DFQC chooses to sacrifice himself instead whereas Shang Gu (Hou Chi’s true self) had no idea what was going on until it was too late
