You’re a very lucky one to have a husband who listens and is willing to learn to make you happy. I’m very…
That’s very true, so it’s important to choose your partner carefully. While dating if I saw that the guy wasn’t in any way interested in improving himself and putting effort into a relationship, I would stop seeing them. It’s a bit of a cold approach perhaps, and it wasn’t easy, but that’s how I avoided greater heartbreak down the line.
Always make me wonder why they have scenes like that? I just hug my hubby's waist (well since we started dating)…
Congratulations to you and your cousin! Healthy babies + easy & safe delivery!
It’s also the first drama for me with this ML, so I’ve now watched Mr Bad and Our Secret with him as well. Very enjoyable, but he’s certainly improved in this drama!
Going through the comment section, I can see that there’s much demand for guys like DJX. For those who want a DJX in their lives, remember that most guys aren’t good at reading girls’ minds. Unless they saw their fathers do such things or had their mothers/sisters/aunts etc teach them how to woo a girl properly, the guys will have little knowledge. Therefore, it’s best that you positively communicate your wants and needs to your partner/crush. Don’t be afraid!
I had to learn to communicate these things instead of straight up demanding them, and my husband, while we were dating, took a while but he started doing romantic things with no prodding from me haha
I.e. instead of saying “why do you never get me flowers”, you can tell him sth like “I love it when you show me your affection out of the blue, by calling me or bringing me flowers randomly”
Few come as perfect as DJX, but guys can learn! I wish all of you happiness! ❤️
Same! I'm living for the thrilling little moments when he realises she was hurt by small misunderstandings and…
Exactly! I’m certain that if she’d been his age and met him at Uni, he wouldn’t have been able to be with her because of the issues he had to deal with. The poor guy had so many jobs just to keep making a living. I had 3-4 part time jobs during my undergraduate studies so I know what it’s like. I lived in the UK alone, my mum couldn’t afford sending me money often, so I didn’t allow myself to go on parties or have a Bf because making a living and getting good grades was so much more important.
He’s already quite stable, and that is the only reason he’s allowing himself to pursue her. She hasn’t known financial or family-related hardships, so I think he wouldn’t have wanted to expose her to such things. I’m glad that his self worth has improved and he can freely love himself and her as well!

I come from a traditional country but we’re much more realistic so relationship fluff is less likely. I moved out at 18 to go to the UK, so I understand where you’re coming from. We’re generally more independent and likely prefer a more realistic approach to relationships, no BS as I call it. I wanted my marriage to be the same, so when going on dates, if the guys played games (very different from DJX, who’s flirting with her, not playing with her feelings given that he’s already told her he wanted to be her bf), those guys were a straight no for me.
My husband is my only relationship beyond going on a few dates with 2-3 guys and we got married at 24 (we’re same age). I did fall in love at 14 with an a bit older guy, so I have gone through some similar stuff that the FL did (I never started a romantic relationship though, as I knew I was going to the UK, I didn’t want us to experience any heartbreak). The thought process I had was somewhat similar to hers tbh.
I have friends in SEA, and I believe there some fundamental cultural differences, particularly Lookism isn’t as big an issue in the rest of Asia as it is in China and Korea. In Japan, clean appearances are generally more important than actually being pretty, but it’s still an aesthetic attribute.

I think you’ll find that in cultures like the Chinese, Korean, Japanese ones, it’s very important to maintain a clean aesthetic. It’s not as realistic, but from my travels to those countries, I can attest that they put huge importance on how they look. As such, in dramas they will avoid showing messy clothing and things like that, unless they want to highlight that a person is depressed etc.
As for the relationship, SZ has got a sense of inferiority, not in terms of herself not being good enough, but from the perspective that she’s younger than him and also he saw her grow up. Because she spent all of her teenagehood pining for him, she doesn’t realise that from an observer’s point of view he saw her just a few times before she became a young adult, so it’s not that big a deal. Let’s not even mention that she’s been really hurt by believing that he’d been dating (not that it would’ve been a crime, but to a young & pampered girl such things are a huge deal) She wants to be wooed because she’s afraid that his affection for her is temporary or misplaced. I think had she not been as pampered by her family, she might have acted on her feelings sooner. Anyway, DJX understands the situation and is ready to follow through, that’s all that matters.
Thank you! I think so too! It’s hard meeting the right person, but when you do, you should work hard to keep them close to you. The outcome is very rewarding!
Awww, I'm afraid of relations can enjoy her only 😅
I think when you find somebody who makes you feel loved and secure, you should be brave and meet it head on. A partner isn’t just a lover but also a friend and a confidant. Jiayou!
My courtship with my husband was much faster than this (I.e. when I saw signs that my husband liked me and wanted to kiss me, I took matters into my hands literally, by grabbing his collar and kissing him. The rest was history as they say), but watching this drama I appreciate how sweet it is to take your time as well.
DJX got it right, she’s young and pure hearted, she’s already been hurt by believing that she’d never be able to win his affection as a woman, so it’s important to slowly remove any doubts. He also needs to be shameless in his flirting, so she’d feel desired, but also in control of the pacing of their relationship. Currently there’s less touching and more communication, which I think she needs. Such a courtship is perfect.
He’s such a smooth operator. Even specially prepared fluffy pink house slippers for her! I guess he expects her to come over a lot 😏
Them cutting the birthday cake together, reminded me of cutting our wedding cake with my husband. I guess they need to practice beforehand! These little details peppered throughout the drama are really cute!
Why did episode 14 feel like it was just 5 minutes long instead of 45?! Ah, this episode was a delight!
DJX trying to hide his amusement when he realised that all that time she’d been jealous due to a non-existent GF was perfectly acted. He didn’t say she wasn’t his girlfriend, and she still hadn’t caught onto it, such a cute innocent heart she’s got. At least she acknowledged that he stopped calling her mei mei! Progress!
I love just how many (seemingly) harsh truths he laid out in the open.I particularly appreciated the one at there…
Yes! Though I came to love anlmost every character in Dr Romantic, Dr Kang is my favourite precisely because of his character journey. Not to mention, the actor does such a splendid job acting like Kang DongJu as well ❤️
He’s my husband’s favourite as well, aside from Dr Kim who I think is universally loved by all fans of this drama series.
Kang Dongju’s return was just so so important. His dialogues in this season left a really deep mark on me.

I particularly appreciated the one at there being only one Master Kim who can do what Master Kim does. It’s very important that they become doctors with a strong sense of self and be fully aware of what they can and can’t do and learn all the time.

That’s how you’re supposed to do it, girl!
The chemistry between these two is off the charts. I’m married and it still makes me giggle like a teenage girl haha
