Watched it mainly for the FL & ML, the ML pretty much stealing the show. The SML was pretty good too, but a bit too indecisive at times.
Zhao Lusi back then still had a bit of work to do on her acting, she’s much better in The Long Ballad. Zheng Ye Cheng had the perfect expression at all times, when he needed to show that he was in love, he looked absolutely besotted, when in pain - it was completely believable, when annoyed - you could almost see the lightning coming out of his eyes.
I enjoyed it well enough, but it’s a pity they didn’t use the book ending.
This drama is 10/10. You want good acting? You got it. Superb script and casting? Check! A really well written and executed plot and multiple subplots that all weave into one? Huge fat check! Amazing fighting scenes, costumes, and art performances (dancing, singing, acting) abundant!!!
The drama encompasses so many things: comedy, romance, drama, lessons to be learned, empathy, smart plots, courage, witty tactics, loyalty, karma, and of course growth.
The growth of both the Female Lead and Male Lead was absolutely awe-inspiring. The FL rediscovered herself as a woman after many years of behaving like a man, learning to use her wits and straightforwardness to charm her husband and his entire family and household. Whereas the Male Lead became a courageous and loyal to the country official and devoted to his wife and child proper man, after he used to be a sheltered child and grew completely devoid of self-confidence in achieving something more than just art-admiring skills.
All of the other characters were well written and we didn’t have one single supporting cast show us mediocre acting skills.
The main actor and actress absolutely killed it, his charm was especially brilliant when using his intelligence and becoming more courageous. She shone the brightest when either leading thousands into battle or showcasing her insane martial arts, and of course her glow as a pampered flirting wife can’t not be mentioned either.
I have just watched the trailer, and I’m already super hungry. I can’t imagine what watching the drama will be like. Royal Feast indeed! I hope for a happy ending!
They were trying to portray awkward people, but unfortunately they portrayed unrealistic people with awkward acting instead. Not all of the actors ofc, but it was enough to put me off.
Ok I don't get it.... Why would u stuck a catheter in the neck.... Do u pee there......? Some medical student…
I think you should look into what dialysis actually does. It’s meant to replace your kidneys’ function when they’re no longer working. Meaning it filters blood. Hence why a catheter needs to be put into a blood stream of a certain type.
P.S. Not a doctor, but I took biology on my baccalaureate and have plenty of surgeons in the family, you tend to pick up stuff from them.
Finished it! So Yu He was actually Consort Yan’s brother, both of them the children of the last Sui Emperor,…
High five to you! I generally dislike it when historical figures are portrayed as saints when clearly they aren’t. It’s an insult to both our intellect and history. He was a good emperor but obviously did some horrifying things. It’s possible for a person to be both good and bad.
Completely agreed on all of the choices made. I’d of course add my all time favourite novel “The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage”, though I do believe a drama is already in the works for that.
Sansheng is a rather short story but so beautiful! I re-read it every so often. She and the God of War are such a gorgeous couple.
But....North Korea is not like that, they have light And stuff like that.
With the fall of the Soviet Union and a slow awakening of the people. We started voting non-communist parties when I was in the middle school, and the situation is kind of improving I guess. But the corruption that took very firm roots during the soviet times is hard to eradicate.
But....North Korea is not like that, they have light And stuff like that.
Actually aside from the potential lack of an issue with electricity, there’s not much of a difference between North Korea and the soviet country in which I spent my childhood. The only thing they might be an issue is that their portrayal might be a bit outdated but that’s about it.
And if I were you I wouldn’t believe the North Korean info on their country, number one rule about communist parties is that they’re all liars and deceivers.

For those saying he can’t act, are you blind or just pretending? He most definitely can act, so keep your ‘in denial’ opinions to yourself.
